So, firstly, I hope this is the write sub forum for data/relic sites. It does have to do with PvE and I don't think there's a dedicated sub forum to data/relic sites. So, anyway, I decided to do day tripping into the drone regions to see what drone blueprints I could get. Yes, I know, the sites aren't as valuable as other null sec sites, but it's pretty empty and I thought it'd be a good starting point for nulls exploration. However, the first data site I found happened to have 3 rogue drone frigates in it. Now, obviously they are easy enough to deal with, however, I was in a defenseless buzzard. If I fit a rocket launcher to it in my one spare high slot I wouldn't have enough power grid to fit an afterburner. So, my questions are...

1. How common is it to find rogue drones in the rogue drone data/relic sites?

2. Is there any way to fit a Buzzard to be able to deal with the rogue drones without having to slowboat around everywhere and without having to drop the scanning rigs and warp core stabs for power grid rigs and modules?

3. Should I just downgrade to a heron for the drones and mwd and hope I don't hit a gatecamp? If not, is there any other ship that can scan, kill the frigates, and hack, that isn't really expensive?

I know other regions are more lucrative for exploration, but I want to see what I can find in the drone regions, plus they are so empty. Thanks in advance, Bobb Bobbington.

Thanks for your help. The main problem I have is the Buzzard's power grid issues. I have power grid management ( +5% to power grid per level) at level 5 and it gives the Buzzard a whopping 18.8 power grid. Keep in mind an upgraded 1mn micro warp drive takes 15 power grid.

This leaves me with .8 out of 18.8 power grid and 162 out of 375 cpu.

One 'Arbalest' Rocket Launcher would use 4 cpu, which would force me to drop both scanning rigs for power grid rigs. The mobile depot is a good idea, though it would take up about 1/4 of my cargo space, and then the modules would take up a little more.

How many and how big rats can spawn? If they can be too big or numerous I may just have to get a dedicated combat frigate. I could drop one of the mid slot scanning modules for a meta 4 small shield booster. Would that, even though it'd only give me 22 ehp/s, be enough to allow me to shrug off the drones while I hacked?

The game has truly become all about choices. If a mobile depot works for you then all the best! Consider taking an expanded cargo module or two with you so that you can create more room as you need it.

I have yet to do one of these. How hard are the rats that spawn? I assume they can't be too bad if a buzzard can take them out.
