Thank you very much.

According to the local news station, 3 people dead so far and many injured.
The streets were so congested that neither ambulances nor police could get through and help.

Always nice to start a new year with a mini-apocalypse...can only get better from here.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I have avoided any and all news sources this day.
I'll catch up tomorrow and (without a doubt) shake my head, facepalm and headdesk.

Green tea seems like a good idea right now. Attention

The hard part now is getting Zimmy over to Austria so I can pleasure her ...
... and finding someone who brews me green tea while I wait for her. ^_^

Well anyway, so i suffer from five different types of headaches:

1) Dehydration Headaches

2) Too little or too much sleep headaches (tied to #5)

3) Mirgains (tied to #5)

4) Eye Strain Headaches

5) Tension Headaches

I have played eve with all of these, and as i have been here nearly 11 years i often played with a headache daily.

Dehydration headaches are self explanatory, drank too little water would get a headache, cure.. drink more water.

Sleep induced just ment i needed to time my sleep better or take a nap later.

Now here come the tricky ones. I have horrid posture, and when i was in High School i used to sleep on a couch (long story, no not gonna get into it) this made my headaches worse. When i was in Jr. high i started having what i call "omg i can not think, but not quite a migraine headaches' i saw a neurologist and chiropractors, and doctors, and had all kinda of meds. It got so bad that i was poping every over the counter pain medice every single day, I would rank them form ignoreable pain, to 'holy **** i need to die right now' pain. This went on for years and years. I'd wake up, an hour later pop pain meds and hope they lasted. Repeat next day. An ignorable headach coudl quickly become a migraine, which then ment Vicoden and sleep. Finally i got tired of it, and my wife made me go to Kiasers headache class they offer. The first thing they mention is whats called rebound headache. For people like me, if you get a headache everyday and you take over the counter pills to deal with it, it actually makes it worse the next day. So you take more pills, which makes it worse, etc, They tried giving me other meds but they all failed. So i decided if it was ignoreable, that i would not take anything, and this helped a little. I wound up having mild headaches every single day. Yes, every day.

In the same class i also learned that i don;t actually have migraines, i have tension headaches. Due to my horrible posture and sleeping oddly when i was younger, i have massive amounts of knots in my back. If i move wrong, or do something for too long, like sit and play eve all day, one of the knots gets triggered, which sends pain to other knots, which eventually reaches my neck and shoulders, and finally explodes in my head. I did chiropractic for two years thinking ti would help (it didn;t) finally, i saw a special for a couples message and figured what the hades. So had a deep tissue, omg i want to scream my head off or punch you in the face, massage. And the next day... no headaches. Went back a few weeks later... and was headache free for two weeks. Went back a few weeks later, and was headache free for a full month. Once a month was all i needed to keep the pain away. And was headache free for two years. But as we moved, and now i now i'm getting them again, so need to find another therapist.

I also happen to be highly sensitive to light, and this gives me eye strain, which causes frontal headaches. The only thing that i found that fixed this, was using Gunnar Optic glasses. I got a pair figuring what the heck might as well try, so got RX. And no eye strain for a year, till my son broke them.. sigh.

So the key is to figure out what type of headaches you get. If you happen to have alot of them, it is important to try and reduce the ammount of pain pills you take, cause it makes them worse. There is a simple way to test for tention headaches. When you have a headache, run your fingers through your hair, grab a hunk and pull. If the headach goes away for a second or two as you pull, then its prolly tention. Another way, have your gf/bf/mom/dad/bff put pressure on your back not light pressure, have them explore for hard noduals. If you have knots, then i recommedn deep tissue scream your head off massage.

If you don;t have tention headaches, then you need to look into other meds. I'm really serious about this, over the counter pills, like tylenol, asprine, advil, excedrine, can make them WORSE. See your doc if that si the case. Of all the headaches, tention is easist to treat if you have muscle issues. Find the source and work them out.

I recently tried some LED backlit IPS LCD monitors and they gave me terrible eyestrain and headaches. Boxed that crap up and took it back to the store. I'm not sure exactly what was causing it.

I'm hoping my old style CCFL back lit monitors hold up for quite a few more years as I have no problems with them.

Grrr.

Wow, reaper, I have no idea! :O

Okay well a little maybe. I usually only have a headache when I drink beer. I can drink three long islang iced tea and it's highly amusing ... :D ... but after two beer I feel like ****. I hate it 90% of the time and next day I am done for.

I had tension headaches from my neck once. Once... for a whole month. Weird story about taking a high dosage of vitamin d and ... don't ever do it, I had no idea until it was too late ... grapefruit juice.

One shall not mix vitamin d with vitamin c intake. No idea why.
A month of headache, three times the ambulance had to pick me up.
One 10/10 "pleasekillme", two 9/10.

I don't start taking meds before 8/10 ...
... I most oftenly refuse to ease pain artificially ...
... but then I gladly took whatever they gave me. Lol

New Yeas's headache most likely came from the 0.2l beer I drank.
Yes, I kid you not. Four glasses of Lebowski don't give me a headache,
but I can feel **** from beer anytime, no matter if I mix it or not.

I often play eve with headaches.

I suffer with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, which means my airway collapses when I sleep so my brain needs to keep waking me up just enough to start the breathing again. This basically means I get none or very little REM sleep, so sleep headaches are a daily occurrence along with extreme tiredness, lack of concentration or ability to focus and the strain it puts on my heart and other organs.

Does this happen throughout the day as well?

You "forget" to breath and suddenly you have a spontanous inhale?

Does your heart skip a beat regularly and then makes a big one?
Usually one feels it. It can come in combination with the spontanous inhale.

One "forgets" (i know cases were I rather call it "lazyness" tbh) to breathe ...
... the heart slows down ... eventually stops ...
... body emits a good dosage of adrenaline ...
... mind reacts with a short panic like effect ...
... and the inhale comes next to a big beat of the heart.

The combo I use to beat all of these headaches in one go is a triple shot bloody mary with a redbull and ritalin chaser.

I have no idea. Was some cheap'ish Asus ones.

But apparently after some research I found out that the dimming circuitry in some LED back lights can make the LEDs flicker. Even though it's not noticeable, it can still wreck havoc with some peoples eyeballs and can cause severe eyestrain.
