From Websters: Pirate is someone who attacks and steals from a ship at sea (space in this application). Nothing about honor or such. That is up to each pirate. It is the attacking and stealing that defines.

In EVE can really only be practiced in Low or Null. Suicide ganking in High Sec is just terrorism.

What about whs?

Also agree that high sec tanking is just terrorism. Or more like dynamite fishing.

High sec happy fun times do not require suicide ganks to happen, it's just a bit harder without the gank.
Scored a few ransoms, usually low value, while in high. My favorite was negotiating with a newbro for the return of his 'slightly used' Damsel. Every once in a while you can score a nice high value kill and clean up on the drops also. Couple times I've had like a quarter billion in shinies fall out of the pinata.
Any time I see some nitwit using faction drones my ishkur gets all excitable.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Highsec mission piracy is very profitable. Steal key mission items(especially from those epic arcs) and ransom them back for isk.

If they don't pay, put them up for contracts and someone else will buy the contract after you steal their mission item.

The definition of what a pirate is has changed a lot. Ransoming tends to no longer exist in a wide spread fashion. I do not foresee it returning either as the player pool increases.
