Considering I've never even heard of "secret world" and they beat EVE I'm not actually that fussed about the result, let the kiddies vote for their plastic candy covered lead me by the hand games and I will stick to games that make me think.

By the way I think the old EVE learning cliff needs Elite Dangerous adding to it above EVE because I'm getting old and find EVE a walk in the park compared to that game.

EVE is not an MMO, it's a way of life.

Odd, I've heard nothing but miserable garbage about ESO. I've even heard someone call it "the Detroit of MMOs."

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I'm pretty sure I've heard people saying this about EVE. It was supposed to be a compliment though.

It is apparently just another WOW clone. With little in the way of the true The Elder Scroll feelings on top of it.
No personal experience, though, again hearsay.

The Secret World was awful at launch, no idea how it is now. That said, EVE is more a simulator than a game.

Excuse me, but what the f*ck are you desu?

Come on. If EVE is not nº 1 in a list, then that list is not worth being in it. Pirate

The Secret World has the best writing and setting in the genre. Its biggest issues are stiff controls, clunky combat, and subpar animations. I really enjoy the game, but the above give me twitches when I go back to it.

Out of all the games in that poll, Eve Online is the only one that has any business being there. Pretty much every other game listed is being propped up by people making multiple accounts (confirmed in the thread) or the games themselves advertising the poll in their game/launcher (also confirmed in the thread).

If the polls had been in any way reflective of reality, it would have come down to Eve Online vs World of Warcraft (for the oldies) and Guild Wars 2 vs Final Fantasy XIV (for the newbies).

That's how it looked. "Gimme your freak votes you cult game freaks!", just the poll went unnoticed by EVE players.

As for TSW, I tried the beta and decided that horror is not my genre at all, and my idea of gaming does not include reading walls of text. Also the character creation was extremely poor even without considering that Funcom's previous game was AoC.

Hehehe, it´s a funny quite interesting MMO. It , like EVE is an acquired taste and is mostly based on the classic tropes of horror/sci fi and alternate dimensions.

Gameplay wise it has shining jewels in some of the quests, in other areas, combat for example it´s a bit of an "acquired taste".

To give you an idea about the game´s mood, you can choose to be an Illuminati for example Big smile

The Intro mission/quest sets the mood of a Cosmic Horror entity (Chtulhu Like) that is taking over a subway and upon going there you can practically see the "edge of the universe" writhing with some primordial chaos entity. All of this in a modern 21st Century Setting, which is honestly , to my tastes quite refreshing from the classic demons from hell that want to om nom nom elven maidens.

I played it for a bit, it´s good, specially to kill some time on the weekends and don´t feel like going into eve, but as I said before, it´s one of those MMO´s that end ups being an "acquired taste" so caveat emptor.

Cheers!
