Was trying to buy parts to fit an incursus while drunk, , it didn't go well.
following day I found out why.
The ion blasters i bought were a bit too big (Ion siege Blasters) , bye bye several hundred million isk.

I once did something to get concorded, forgetting about what happens when you undock while your timer is still up.

I decided it was a good time to rearrange my cargo by jetting a full can of freshly mined ore right next to a player from BoB...

  - remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not  "afk" cloaking -

One of my Alts lead a several hundred strong fleet into a certain part of 0.0, and their certain doom.

Carrying several weeks worth of POS fuel in many expanded iterons for several POS (back then that was alot of Iterons, in the pre Capital age). Not to mention a bucket load of isk, a fortune in that time.

We'd had assurances of Blue status from all sides we'd pass through (this was also before alliances were in game mechanisms and before blue settings actually worked in space, alliance wise).

We got halfway, then both sides of a certain pipe descended upon us, Red-Sea-no-longer-parted style.

A handful made it through, but probably 95% of the cargo and well over 70% of the convoy got wiped out within a few minutes. ShockedTwisted

... the remainder got wiped out a few hours later when they thought things had calmed down. Roll

Although people may say I was not solely responsible, as the architect and initiator I do feel it. What?

I was new back then. And ... have to admit, what a fracking rush it was! A day worthy of remebering. So much action, so much team work, so much adrenaline. Learnt alot too. Big smile

(We did eventually make it up there and live peacefully in our second attempt). Cool

Since I have a pack rat mentality and while I've had this account close to nine plus years, since I have actually "played" the game two, maybe three years at best (skill training online), I have never seen one billion plus ISK in my wallet...

I've been playing off and on for 10 years and have never seriously PvPed outside getting jumped at gates. Ugh

I really want to get into PvP at some point, but I've always felt myself to be too unskilled/low-SP/poor to contribute.

One thing that has always amazed me about MMORPGs is how "guild drama" (okay, corp drama, but I digress...) is a universal. Someone you thought you knew and/or trusted flips out over something totally inoccuous (or totally hilarious/awkward), loses their minds, refuses to back down, attempts a ninja, and then, regardless of success or failure, tries to destroy the organization.

I guess that the lesson in this -- if there is a lesson at all -- is that people, across the board, are pretty friggin' stupid. I understand that these individuals are necessary as a foil so that the true luminaries amongst us can shine all the brighter. But it doesn't negate the fact that the dumb fall into patterned behavior, and in MMORPGs, this is one of those patterns.

I once belonged to a guild in WoW where the GM was trading epics through the DKP system for cybering. When it finally came out, similar drama ensued. I also once had a WoW guild break up because I (the GM) took the gold (like barely 700g) out of the bank to buy a new bank tab (essentially just reinvesting it), and one of the officers flipped out so badly because of the 'theft' that it shattered the guild. People are very strange. Stupid, as I mentioned earlier, yes, but damned strange, too.

missioning with a friend many years ago in our first battleships, doing worlds collide, it's my friends mission. pulse tanked rokh was mine. i was woefully underskilled and shitfit.

we did the last room of one side, got the ships crew mission item in my cargo, and went back to the first room to do the other side.

i warped in first, and as i cleared the acceleration gate, my screen goes black.

and stays black.

i tell my friend this on TS, as he's following me in. he tells me i'm just sitting there, getting pounded on. and it's not looking good.

my first BS goes boom while i can't do anything about it and the loot fairy says no with regard to the mission item.

my friend never let me live it down, even now after almost 5 years.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

I was playing with one of my ex's kids one day and he thought he could duel with me as if it were WoW. This was in 2006. Anyway he was concorded and lost his Cyclone. Had not even played a month and it was his first BC too.

He cries about it in local and some space rich veterans give him ISK. He buys another Cyclone and then undocks it to go get modules.

... while the GCC was still on

and got popped again

Think the story is over? No.

He was given enough ISK for 2 Cyclones. So he gets a new one and does not undock right away. He leaves to get modules.

And gets ganked in Amamake.

He was actually jumping up and down screaming "That's it! I'm not playing this game any more!!!".

Oh the lols.

I lost my first battleship to rogue drones with wrong hardeners and no small drones, my large ones couldnt kill the tacklers due to lack of skills so i slowly smelted over a few minutes.

I lost a half-fit scorpion with its launchers still in the cargo-hold because "base is only one jump-bridge away, and the skill will be trained tomorrow to fit them". Seems an enemy fleet was in the process of reinforcing that jump-bridge as I came through it Oops

Second best was the "afk ishtar" that I lost to rats the first day I tried it out... worst thing, I wasn't even really afk, I was at my desk reading a book with one eye on the screen for hostiles entering local. Didn't realise I should also occasionally glance at my damage bars "eh, what, theres no-one else in local, why has my shield alert just sounded...oh". Not so afk as I thought What?

Oh, my, done this so many times.

In the times before sound alerts, I’d often be happily ratting/missioning whatever … and be so focused on something (targeting, chatting, looking aimlessly at pretty spacescape, zooming into a distant star, rotating the camera) that I’d totally forget I’d not switched on any tank or even if I had, just realise in time that I was into Hull. Warp out with ~5% Hull left … flames coming out from every direction.

Possibly my embarrassing loss though (and most infuriating) was taking a Domi into a level 2 mission I think. I was all, ok, not sure what the mission is, but I’ll be safe in a domi, whatever it can throw at me, so it’ll be cool, and I can whizz through it. As whizzing through a bunch of missions was my aim for whatever reason. So, I fit it out, gallantly warp in and … Scrambled by like ten frigates. Forgot to put in drones. Guns can’t hit the damn ships. Eventually the full mission spawns, as I sit there, immobile, and unable to warp … and over possible the slowest 30-45minutes EVER the Domi slowly realises it’s inevitable fate, and dies. To a bunch of Atrons and a Vexor. *Shame*.

The thing that got me was that from the first few seconds into it, I knew my fate, and my stupidity and the outcome. It was one of those occasions that mad me stop playing for a few weeks. Lol.

Oh, why not I'll post with my main Big smile. Here's a wall of text for a long story.

So, I had a friend in gal-mil by the name of {redacted} and he was training to become an fc (wasn't half bad for being a CEO as well) after i noticed my corp starting to go downhill, I joined his. It wasn't half bad, 2-5 close knit guys.

Over time he began to get down on himself, but got really excited whenever we went wormhole exploring from our corner of lowsec. stopped fcing altogether shortly after Sad. I told him after 2-3 weeks of this "I'll join the big corp in the alliance and you can go do what you want, we'll pass the corp to someones dead alt." Roll. He said "thank you, I'll check with the other guys to make sure they agree". So he left on his journey and we went our seperate ways.

About 3 weeks later he invites me to a convo. Apparently Zam Hunter (another FC in galmil) ganked his WH Legion. He wanted revenge and asked me to gather intel on Zam, I initially said "no, give me time to think". I sat and thought for an hour about how I could get paid without backstabbing one of my fellow militiamen and one of our prominent leaders. I decided on feeding false intel. convo with him "accepted". I tell Him "I'll do it for 250 million minimum", one reply "done". Bear

I spent the next few hours storming up battleship fits and other shiny things (without fitting importation from eft this wouldn't be possible). I sent him 1 new fitting a week for 4 weeks. I asked the next time I saw he was online "Mind if i ask who's doing the dirty work?". He replied "Camel Empire however, they require 7 billion for a price on this, anything else is split between us". "ok, how much more do you need?" I asked. "500 million". It's at this point I bit my lip to keep from laughing, knowing full well they'll hunt him from Black Rise to Cobalt Edge. With a smile I prepare one last fitting.Twisted

1 Gila fit later I had 500 million, had protected Zam Hunter (had told him what happened) and stabbed one of my friends in the back for trying to betray the place he called home for 1 year prior. afaik Camel Empire might be hunting down my ex-CEO for 7 billion now

(TL;DR Don't trust people who are loyal to gather your intel) Cool

I was running a combat anomoly in Syndicate late one night in an Ishtar.

Fell asleep.

Woke up a couple of hours later and there were still rats present. Thought, gee that's funny.

Warped back to station and docked. When my pod popped up on screen, I had a 4 am epiphany.
