My main is training into caps in the next few months so it's time to build a cyno alt. I am looking for some feedback on the cyno alt skill plan I've put together. The plan is for a Gallente Character that is capable of lighting basic cynos as well as the ability to fly Gallente Interceptors (taxi fit to get around null sec with 0 problems), capability to fly all basic T1 frigates, accept/create a few contracts, and fit +3 implants to speed up the training process.

Right now, all the skills in the plan take <30 days (so the character will only cost $15 to make). Let me know what input you guys have (adding/subtracting skills, etc.):

1. Cybernetics I
2. CPU Management IV
3. CPU Management V
4. Cynosural Field Theory I

Ok, a few things right off the bat.

1) You do know you need a second account for the cyno alt, right? Both the cyno pilot and the cap pilot have to be on at the same time.

2) Make sure you've read up on capital ships before going this route.

3) EveMon has a nice feature to create a blank character; no reason to make one in Eve just to import it.

So, all that out of the way: I wouldn't waste 30 days. You just got 20 free training days; why not just use that?

What I'd likely do with your goals:

Racial frigates to 3
Cyno theory to 4
Hull upgrades 2
Informorph psychology 4
Informorph synchronizing 4

Fill in the rest with whatever else you want.

Yep.

Did not know that

Valid Point

How would you use the jump clones? Even with those skills you can only jump clones every 20 hours. Jump fatigue for the ship itself would be much shorter. Furthermore, with an interceptor I could move the alt around with virtual impunity.

Since it wasn't mentioned: don't choose Amarr, as that's the only rookie-ship that needs cargo expanders at cyno 4.

Also, since there are no clone contracts any more, any character without expensive implants can serve as a cyno alt now. Hence jump clones come in handy.

Thank you Sir, I found it out on the hard way... Amarr rookie ships are a little bit... underpowered in this case...

Because of the removal of the bloody clone jump, my Cyno alts have learned to fly an Interceptor.
It is much easier for travelling in 0.0 than in a shuttle or a frig, which will be caught in every bubble.

There are two cheap cloaking devices... one which needs Cloaking level 2 and another which need level 3.

With level 3 you can fit the T2 version (-75 % velocity), which can be used for the MWD-cloak-fleet-cycle.
The Meta 1 version lowers you by 90 % and is not really helpfull.
