Why do I hate this game, when I should love it?

Keep in mind you are barely scratching the surface.

As much fun as you may be having now. Its going to be even more fun when you actually achieve what you are after, then somebody comes along and blows up your ship and takes your stuff.

OP is a troll. 10/10 for catching so many.

If i answer someones question and it later turns out they didn't want an answer, i don't really feel like i lost Roll. "Trolls" are either adults with mental difficulties or children (with mental difficulties).

ie.

0/10 for everybody involved, especially those who consider trolling a thing and rate them.

Eve seems to be everything I've ever wanted in a game, but no matter how hard I try, I just hate it. Hate hate hate. I know, I should just give up, but I was so excited I paid for half a year up front. Plus, in abstract at least, I should LOVE the game.

But here's the problem- everything Eve promises to be seems to be a lie. For instance, I was expecting a big, interesting sandbox where I could play in any style I wanted. But this isn't even remotely true. I find myself doing the same tedious Missions over and over again. I wanted to follow the "explorer" career, but Eve doesn't seem to reward (or honestly, even allow) anything but brain-dead Ganking.

My first attempts at "exploring" all went the same way- it takes 30 minutes to even find an anomaly to explore. Then I warp there, and I'm not able to do anything. Nothing. I'll target whatever it is that I think I'm supposed to be analyzing, but the game won't let me approach close enough for the scanners to work. So I just sit their, pounding my head on the keyboard, wondering what the hell the point of this is supposed to be.

Certainly this can't be all the game is- endless frustration, never being able to do ANYTHING I set out to do, and instant death the moment I I enter Low-Sec at the hands of equally bored, but far better equipped old-timers. There has got to be some point to this game, but I can't find it, no matter how much I want to.

I feel you, the problem with the game is that is full of jerks, griefers and like you say the content just isnt there if you dont have the skills, everything is bottlenecked, there isnt a field where mobs respawn and you can have 2 hours having fun mindlessly killing npcs,

on exploration, you will get better skills and will scan faster, eventually, but you could just queue up and go to watch all series in netflix, then by the time you come back you will have forgotten everything.

People complain of carebears all day, but i created an alt with the 20 days gift and i went to null sec, to experiment non-carebearing, and people are just jerks, will kill you and pod you even if you are in a rookie ship, just for the sake of it, they gain 0 loot, you lose 0 isk, 0 exp, and if you did set your home base inside a station in null you wont even lose time to get back, but people are just jerks and will camp you and thats the way it is.

Eve is full of jerks with poor social skills, when you get a corp, you will be only in the safe side of your corp but against every other sociopath, ive played other games like darkfall, with had the same setting, full loot full pvp, and people on the internet just think that because you can do something you must do it every single time and lose any kind of social empathy.
