So, in brief, taking a look at the epic arc for SOE, there's plenty of delicious lore fruit on the tree, especially when it comes to recent events in Thera.

But a problem occurs, most players have done the epic arc.

In simple lore terms, we cant all have single-handedly captured Dagan.

So how do we use information, if at all, from Epic Arc and other missions in roleplay or player-created fiction?

In case of Epic arcs, you could use it in an RP sense as 'the document regarding the Hunt & Capture of Dagan'

Can bring it up like 'looking up details on the hunt for Dagan I stumbled on this interesting bit' Keep in mind, Capsuleers stand above the law in many regards, which is something that can be exploited at times.

Missions outside Epic arcs are easier to integrate tho, as they're more generic, so can use em (like I've done at occasions) like 'Hey this assignment the empire/corp gave me reveals info I didn't know/ is relevant.'
In cases with names (like Kruul & the Damsel) you can use his organisation name rather then the specific NPC name to give it more merit in RP.

Now some missions have outdated or even contradicting lore, this isn't bad, as when you bring it up, people with sufficient knowledge can correct you it.
This is NOT bad, look at the real world & our stereotypes & supposed things we think of other nations. The 'faulty lore' in missions I see as a variant of that: wrong stereotypes/info you gathered.

Other ways of using mission info can also be 'rumours' or 'I read this in a book / seen it in a holo' etc etc
