How to use a data center?

So I have been told that I can trade in pirate tags at a data center in order to gain standings. I'm at a data center and I see no way to interact with it. How do I get a mission from it so I can trade in tags?

Are there agents?

I don't know. Can I dock with it? I see no way to dock. The data center is also smaller than my ship.

The Data Centers have NPC agents at the location, you talk to them to hand over the tags.

Remember when you did the SOE Epic Arc? Some of those agents were in space, you talk to the data center agents in the same way. Use the selected item box or r-click them. (Select the agent and not some random object floating in space)

I've never done the SOE epic arc. So there are agents floating in space? I will look around and see.

Yeah, Event Agents are mysterious. They're not like regular Agents.

The link above lists all the different types of Event Agents and contains links leading to more info about each specific type.

To interact with an Agent In Space, your ship has to be within 100 km range. With the Agent listed in your Overview click on it to get various options for interaction to appear in the 'Selected Item' window.

Another option is to just right click on the agent showing in the viewscreen and select 'Start Conversation'.

Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

Luckily a good, quick google points you to the wiki.

And the wiki points you to where you should go.

I did read that wiki page beforehand. It lead me to the data center, but I had no idea how to speak to the agents. In that regard, it didn't help at all.

I eventually did figure out how to contact the agents - and 5 missions later my corp standing hadn't changed at all. What a useless waste of time.

Uhm. Cause they are for faction standings...not corp.

Apparantly you didnt actually read it as the first freaking line of the wiki is:

Event Agents located at Data Centers offer a one time agent mission that will give Faction standing increase as a reward.

Not to mention that the increases are small and sometimes might take a relog or DT to be visible.

Actually you will get some minimal corp standing with whatever corp the particular agent is with but as the various agents are with a scattering of corps it rarely adds up to much for any one corp - the main purpose is to build up a faction standing increase (something you normally only get from Epic arcs and storylines).

The force is strong with this one

He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.

He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared.

ShockedEither you sir are a ninja, or my report wasn't the first.

Have a glance about the place though, he's been spamming a couple of threads.

I looked at the thread as it appeared Ralph...So I claim to be the primary of this one.

@ ISD / CCP: remove the timer on reporting people. I couldn't report HALF of that persons abusive threads / posts cause of some weird timer that prevents me to report forum breaking stuff.

Add a +1 Ezwal too, for locking the thread in GD. Or give us a like button on ISD people that closed a thread.
