eve has consireably helped me combat viscious demons

i left amok due to the amount of bad taste jokes about disease did i report them for rl harasment no id did not this is an adult game and i am pretty pissed off about hearing about people being harrased for what they say in game

this is an adult! role playing game if a crazy scot who the worst thing he could possibly do is bleed on somone in rl can keep his sense of humour in tact during stuff liek this anyone can

i replaced and alcohol and pain killer addiction for 2 hobbies the gym and eve
Other than that i concentrated on my heathen shamanism
praise be Odin father of the internet

ps praise bob god of wormholes

pps
has anyone seen where the wormhole goddess Euruz went? bob is rather 'horny' ;)

Much respect to you friend,

I'll apologize now if I manage to offend you at any point in the future,
I often post about alcohol and eve as I'm Irish and a lot of my humour relates to drinking,
while I drink a fair bit and may occasionally slag someone off for being unable to eve while drunk (or anything along the lines of glorifying drinking heavily for that matter) do not take it for face value,
it's a bit of toung n cheek humour and largely there for comedic value rather than anything I actually believe.

I know a fair few people who struggle with addictions (Irish so yes the stereotype holds trueish) and of the few of them who have kicked their habits I have unparalleled respect For.

That said I still slag them off for being sissys(Blink).

So all told, don't take any of my antics personally, they aren't ment as such.

On a related note eve has helped me through a couple of bouts of depression ( the "black dog" kind not the "omg I got dumped I'm sooo depressed" kind).
search "broadcast for reps" I believe it's one of the more experienced corners of the community regarding this sort of thing.

i wouldn't worry its impossible to offend me cos i'm scottish

i read a scientific paper about how patients in pains found that playing games like doom helped patients deal with pain better than drugs id had a botched ankle op and surgical infection shortly before te insrugecy campain in 2007/8
the tramadol wasn't working anymore so i got into pvp in eve in my first throax in the starlancers flew alongside the nc breifly in insurgecy then those crazy cats wanted to pay eve on hard mode outnumbered against the russians stella polar ect some of the best fights ive ever had in eve were back then a fresh faced noob happy to call targets and follow orders and listen and learn from people a lot better at this game than me thanks guys i woudt have made it so far without you an i mean anyone ive flown alongside against or talked about music in eve radio chat

ive always gamed at a competitive level
early days lan paryies and doom2 halflife mods then cs source
age sets in and your faced with defeat at the hands of kids younger than your friends children

i've always found that if you find the right corp in eve you can pick it up and put it down quite niceley it fits mature player who can manage their time better and college students with little money for games

ive heard of us as being to geeks what geeks are to normal people but eve always been more of a hobby than a game a hobby where teamwork is needed to succeed if you want a challenge and good fights these dont happen without the trust formed over time working with people theres those hidden social skilsl you learn speaking to people from all over the world from all different backgrounds

however i found pc games were getting to simple till i found eve

the considerable demons i faced were a genetic tendency to go berserk the problem wasn't the drinking as such but rather the environment i was drinking in and it was only for a few months a year but im sorry but until they can make better batteries and brighter screens eve doesnt beat sipping a craft beer or vintage cider in the sun
like i said eve helped

then however in 2008 its was hard enough to play sober till you had all those learning skills to 5 lol

in eve i have found a community and a very strong one at that where you get to know your enemies a lot better than your friends the carnage is awesome and i never think violent thought anymore i get all that ou of my system with my t3's blasters

i've never pretended to be anything other than me on teamspeak had lots of fun meeting people from far flung places

I foresee that with the rise of the space game and headline like this is a sci fi mmo you don't have to be crazy to play i'm sure we will get a lot of new blood to the game hungry for pew with eves price for sub and the possibility to play for free and someone else who cant make isk foot the bill is a nice touch gold sellers drive me out of every other mmo i try lol

i love the freedom of eve your character can be anything you want them to be lots of folk are role playing sometimes slagging off the empire factions but theres a balance of being yourself on coms and role players in the game are few and far between

And this satisfied gamer still wants to be in the biggest mosh pits in eve back in 2008 it was figthing Razor et al these days its much more low scale stuff but with skill loss from t3's and the cost of fitting them its the truly last great challenge in eve for now still not sure about giving time dilation a go it just sounds a bit to dirty and full of drama but perhaps thats the 2008 stil in me lol
back when forum trolling and nao hacs were valid tactics

i've ignored nul politics for a long time but its always nice to see old reds and blues from way back before whole forests of nerf bats
hit the myrmidon and other gank ships of the day
now after all the ship rebalances noobs are dangerous again the isk game seems to ease them in gently with epic arcs and other nice stuff in the tutorials like ventures one of the funnies things over my move to wormholes was some of the best people ive flown with to date in game getting flustered trying to find the tutorial that gives you a free venture these mythical new tutorials were more elusive and out of game a more mature bunch who put our lives first and the game 2nd
what will eve evolve into next ?

i loved the dust beta and it broke my heart i loved the whine threads about those charge up sniper rifles during early beta not out of any desire to hurt anyone feelings but when you can no longer compete in sports or play pool like i used to 1 or 2 games but only against folk who are good thats about all my knees up to now

pen an paper rpgs have enjoyed a renaissance and lots of new blood has filtered out of games like wow ect er sorry dragon raja clones ;)

Knowing who you are is a key to it all apparently )0(

that's why my only rule in eve is to fly with folk whose rules are life first game 2ndBear

found eve through a spiritual friend and i find repetitive tasks and calming voices on teamspeak can help prepare for meditation

even mad fleets in nul which breaks own in shouting matches can help teach skills for folk who have to deal with idiots at work

spiritual technology doesn't work so well when you pop heavy pils for pain and it work better when you have something physicaly demanding to do like physio or strength training which combined with eve have transformed me as a person in as much a positive way as my spirituality and self help training i try and do in the summer months.

Now that science is starting to explain monastic mystical traditions martial arts and concord find a way to breathalyser unwary pod pilots over Yule

Sooo you play drunk ey???
But do you play naked?? Hu? Hu????

EVE is a great tool to help yourself get out of bad habits
and the amount of sociak interaction you can have helps a lot as well.

I checked out "broadcast for reps" on reddit, but I found it makes me feel much worse
and just pushed me further into isolation. I wished I knew why people consider it helpfull.

Not saying it isn't, but I absolutely don't see, feel or get it.

i had heard it was, no experience of it myself though so " mileage may vary"
i prefer being solitary while dealing with strife of any sort as i can regulate my thoughts much easier and rationalise faster than having to involve any one else, regardless of however cathartic its supposed to be on balance i rather deal with it myself.

I'm like you there. Docs wanted me to take their "medicine" and talk to a "professional"
but that makes me feel like giving up, because I always deal with **** myself.

Glad I did .... I am so much better now ... although it was really hard.

Yes and yes ... geee not sure I wanna roam with you! ;)

Oh my new pic is there already!

I am not looking naked enough! :O

Most "proffesionals" I know suck big time, so yeah, I concur, I don´t like talking to them either ( I should know, I am one of "them")

You look good enough there, so no worries!

Big hug to you all! Glad you all found a way to sort whatever issues you had! Love!

Cheers!

Ahhh I think I have the answer laddie!

Here, everyone is speaking "Anguish" a proto-form of the English language and other now dead languages that is in use as the Lingua Franca of the Post Apocalyptic barrenness of GAMMA WORLD.

I have here my trusty Alternity Edition of Gamma World and "Anguish" is clearly it, a modern version of English. Yep.
