Hi,

As you can read it in the previous thread from Drailen (http://goo.gl/cp5F7l). EveHQ development is discontinued again.

I talked a bit with some mates and we want to give it a try, picking EveHQ up and keeping it working with futures eve online updates. Even if we are all experienced developpers, we don't know yet if we can do it. As you may know, EveHQ is a pretty big software but it’s worth trying.

The objective of this early message is to get in contact with developer that might also want to work on the subjet and work together.

The main objective is to keep the software up to date, the side project aiming at rewriting the software in C# is still on schedule.

Feel free to contact us if you planned something on eveHQ or want to help.

Whats it written in now? Thought it was written in C# now...

Thanks for picking it up, I am sure the community will greatly appreciate it. :)

The actual version of EveHQ (2.15) is mostly written in VB.net

Drailen started the c# rewrite, using the 3.0 branch. Sadly, he left before finishing. He didn't left any documentation about it and last time I heard of it, there was a heavy load of work left.

As written in the first message, the main objective is to keep the software up to date with the coming releases.

I am grateful that a dev has both taken note of and commented on this page.

I, for one, welcome a C# rewrite. Sadly, with IRL, EVE-O Preview, and my own personal projects my plate is full. I do wish you the best as I quite liked EVEHQ. I will be watching this thread to see how it all plays out and possibly help if I find the time.

Amazing stuff. I am currently using EFT for fittings and was just thinking that a year ago I had a program I used that was different and I recall it being better for functionality. I believe this was the program. Glad to see it is getting picked up right as it got back up and going. I'm about to start my BA-CS and will be the kinda guy that picks up stuff like this in the future or even helps with someone else that picks it up. Will be great learning experience as an up and coming developer. My programming degree will be geared directly at gaming software. But I'm sure this will be something I'll want to keep an eye on. Maybe I'll be able to assist in the future :-)

Is there a timeline on the vb.net update release for this in the works currently or is that TBD?

Did the developer open source this? I’m new at Eve but not to code.

Idea Maybe if someone links in the repo I could take a look...

Hi,

The code is open source, we uploaded it on a github repository.
We want to release a first new version of eveHQ, with all links with newedentech removed, and a functioning update system.

Some people asked where they can found the current 2.15 installer, there is a link to the file : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BweeBfykoW46TmhVRVdqbTVZLU0/view?usp=sharing

Thanks for all encouragements!

Good luck guys. I can barely update iph these days or I'd lend a hand. Vb isn't all that bad though unless it was written in vb6! :p

Is there a bug tracker set up?

The reason I am asking is because I have found a bug in the program where it will not exit correctly. I do not have hide when minimized selected, yet when I close the program from the system tray, the process continues to run. This causes the program to not start when you attempt to start it from the Start Menu, a desktop icon, or from the task bar.

You can open Task Manager and kill EveHQ.exe and it will run again, but if you close it, you have to repeat this process to run it again.

I am attempting to find the cause in the program itself, but not the code. If I am unable to find the problem within the program, how well does it hold up to an external debugger?

Wouldn't it be better to rewrite (since you already plan on doing it) to c++ and Qt? That way the project will run on multiple platforms.

We installed a new portal for EveHQ at http://evehq.co

You can submit bugs using the forum. We use the git issue system as bugtracker.
You will find the incoming releases in the download section.

We are actually working on proteus data to publish a new version of EveHQ

@Pete Butcher - We are far from the rewrite at the moment but it's a possibility. I'd also like to make it available on multiple platforms.

We are currently dealing with an error in the data import. We will drop a message here once we are done with it.
