So recently I've been exploring the industrial/economic side of eve and wanted to get into trading. I am just wondering what hub would be good because to start in because I've heard Jita can be overwhelming for a new trader.

Any of the other major hubs. Trade volume, and therefor general competition goes in this order:

Jita, Amarr, Dodixie, Rens.

In all honesty, you might be better off starting in Jita. The reason being, you are still fresh faced and ready to take on the world which means you will be constantly checking/updating your orders.

If you want to start right away only "checking your orders 2 - 3 times a day" as people like to say, try one of the smaller trade hubs.

It's usually the people who have more capital and have been trading a while that move into less active trade hubs once they get burnt out on the .01 isk games.

Now, who is going to start us off with the obligatory "I don't bother with .01 isk wars because I'm a master trader and I research markets and I know everything and if you are bothering with .01 isk wars you are trading wrong."

Station Rankings in traded goods/isk.

A year old analysis of what this data might mean to a trader, and also a very wonderful site for traders.

If you are trading short term, flipping goods within days or weeks one of the lower volume hubs is better since the buy/sell orders tend to be spaced very far apart. Jita is great for setting speculation prices and coming back a while later to ship those goods out to other hubs.

Then you should keep exploring and not ask such idiotic questions. Who told you this? I really wonder.

I'd suggest interregional trading. More work to find profitable trades, but markups tend to be higher. Good news for a new is looming to make his limited investment capital grow as fast as possible.
