upon activation this module broadcasts for your FC if you are within optimal from primary/secondary targets.

example:
FC broadcasts primary and secondary targets on the overview. Anyone within the fleet who has this module active will enable the FC to see how many in fleet are within optimal range of the targets.

alternatively only the ships which are NOT within optimal range are shown

Is your FC really that bad he/she does not know the limitations of the ship your in? -1 . Get a better FC.

unfortunately no matter how good the FC the battlefield tends to get messy and that is a result of choice of tactics (not necessarily how good the FC is), the messier the battlefield the more complex it becomes for the FC. Anyway aren't we supposed to empower less experienced FC's in the game?

Definately. However being aware on the field and the limitations of your ship is part of your job as a FC.

Yes and the better the FC the better he is at handling complex situations.

so again get a better FC

or failing that this can be solved with better communication in the fleet if you are in optimal through an x in chat... although again your FC should already know if you are or not

Why gimp your fits to tell your FC something he should already know?

its not necessarily a "x'ing up" type of function. alternatively it can provide a better visual for the FC when he zooms out to see the battlefield he will see how many km off the primary everyone is

-1 won't get used.

If anything, the FC should be able to see how many are in range of the broadcast without having to fit a module, merely for being in the FC position.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

pssst.....fc should be calling warp ins that are in optimal for starters. If a diverse fleet.....they should have several warpins. I had on the ball fc's run at least 4 warp ins for bs' alone. Rail rokhs went to player X, arty minmatar to player y, etc. These warp ins were placed for the racial optimals of the ships called to them.

FC, in conjunction with op planners, should also be well aware of ranges of ships. You see....they made the fleet fit or you suck template all the people are flying. They shouldn't be guessing my rokhs range, they told me to fit the say tc with range script and CNAM as antiship ammo. They also told me my bare minimum skill levels needed to be in the fleet in the BS in the first place. Homes I was at did anyway....you will be skill a level 4, skill b level 5, etc.

I will repeat the question, since you didn't answer it.

Why would you gimp your fit to tell the FC something he should already know?

if you're anchored up properly, and the anchor is in range of the target, you are in range. Simple as that.

Pointless, not only are you potentially gimping your fit but your offering up information to the FC that has no real value if they are in command of even a half way competent fleet.
