The capacitor cost of running a single cycle of a capital shield booster is a significant portion of the energy released in the Fat Man (Nagasaki) detonation.

If I'm not mistaking what you said....then... all it took was a 1950 airplane and technology to use an a bomb. EVE is in the year 50,000 or something.

I'm just saying that within EVE technology, a nuclear bomb blast could be contained within an engine chamber and harnessed directly for kinetic energy.

It doesn't have to be nuclear the point is a self destruct like you see in all the movies and everything. And besides since i changed my idea to more like a smart bomb the main point of the self destruct would be to take out ships that blew you up that have only some or a little hp left, or frigates if your in a battleship or something.
