Fireworks explosions cause solid colour background

When I undock and people are shooting fireworks I get a solid blue, yellow or white background, when I pan the screen I can find a spot that the screen out doesn't affect.

Does anyone know if there is something I can do to fix the problem?

The problem occured last time CCP gave out fireworks but I haven't noticed it for some time.
