2014 was an amazing and interesting year not only for game development but also for Team Security.

Check out the good work done by Team Security in 2014, see how we continue the fight against RMT and get reminded about our policy regarding input broadcasting and multiplexing in CCP Grimmi's latest dev blog Holidays Greetings From Team Security! - 2014 In Numbers.

Of course the blog contains also graphs! Big smile

the isk one is obviously trillions, no other scale would make sense

That last graph with the value of ISK and assets seized. I'm pretty sure the y-axis scale is in trillions. I tweeted out over 3 billion in tears from people who had their freshly purchased ISK seized in July.

So to clarify a concern I know will be brought up, and older GM posts misquoted to justify.

I have a Logitech G105. I cannot use a keystroke of a macro key to engaging drones on a target , and generally we can only use them to rebind existing keys?

I have a support ticket open to ask whether binding a G-key on my Logitech to F1 through F8 for smartbombs is legal.

If the question can be answered publicly I can close the ticket, but more importantly it would get more exposure.

So, two obvious questions:

1. What happened in August!?
2. Can you give examples of what qualifies as “other”?

1. Somer blink I am guessing.

And the scale has to be trillions

Silly question, why differentiate ISK Spammers from ISK Sellers?

I presume the spammers are basically ad bots, that refer people that bite to the actual seller. When you nail a spammer you won't get much actual isk because the spammer assumes the account will get caught and it's not as big a deal as when you catch the actual seller.

So, if we assume, that ,without Somer getting banned, the ISK confiscated in August, would be around the monthly average of ~4 Tril., one could conclude, Somer lost around 38 trillion ISK.

With 800 mil. per PLEX and a PLEX being 20$, that's a total of 950.000 $

Shocked

1. It was quite an eventful month. We may delve deeper into this at next years fanfest. No spoilers, sorry!
2. There are a few different ban types grouped into "other" here - I'll mention some: CC Fraud, account sharing, account hacking and "repeated warnings or in-game violations" not covered under any of the other types of bans.

Curious about one thing. Are you going to put the important parts of CCP Falcon's 25 November post in the Third Party Policies, ToS, or other official page connected to the EVE Online Rules of Conduct? Because I'm tired of all the space lawyers digging up posts for 2010 to justify their behavior. I'd love to just be able to say that all of the forum posts from before 1 January 2015 are outdated and no longer apply.

I assume the chart is isk in Billions. 100 isk is....well i dont know if an NPC frigate in a 1.0 system is less than 1000 isk.

Yep, this is more or less correct. "ISK Spammers" are in-game characters spamming chat, eve mails and whatnot with ISK Selling ads.

The "ISK Seller" bans are for accounts involved in selling of ISK - typically these will be distribution accounts, middle-men or suppliers.
The graph is based on "ban types" which is what these accounts would see when attempting to log in. The "Macro Use" bans includes all macro bans; but this ban type in particular could be a graph of its own, as we differentiate between types of bots - RMT bots, player bots, chat spam bots (outside of the ISK Spamming field) and so forth.

It's also worth mentioning that we do not limit punishment to the offending account(s) - we take action against all accounts found to belong to the offender. This is a big reason not to share your accounts - your friend might buy some ISK or bot a little, and you could end up being guilty by association. Cry
