Horrible idea.

Knowledge give an edge to Bob fellow and it is a good thing. Stay in KSpace or die polarized if you cant make a substraction.

Can I get a timer to remind me how much time I'd have if I didn't read such terrible forums?

this is a horrible idea, it would ruin the immersion in wormholes. Ugh
if they making a timer i guess they could have it next to the booster timer and not on overview.

Add timestamp to your local. Wait 6m if you're worried. Done.

Polarization timer seems like something these high-tech ships might be able to handle monitoring. On the other hand it is a bit hand-holdy. I don't really care either way.

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

I like this, not an earth shattering change, just a simple quality of life improvement. Simply the right tool for the job. A little timer in the usual place for such things.
Sure, egg timers, sums based on timestamps, Siri, time between honey do's, cat's demands for attention or whatever are no substitute for things being done properly.

This is clearly a QoL upgrade to finally allow us to throw out the local window from our hud (currently using it only for those timestamps).

Yes please, +1 to simple info

CSM members tend to point devs to relevant threads. A wild Fozzie also sometimes appears commenting on the rare technical issue.

Yes and after that add a timer timer so you can see when your next timer is due to start.

Actually I still don't understand why there is jump cloak for WHs. On gates sure but WHs what is the lore for that one?

Anyway my 2p is that there are already too many times. I can always click on the WH and try to jump and see exactly how long I have left to fret over my personally stupidity. If I'm worried about someone in the hole with me taking advantage of the fact I'm stuck there, then I can bounce between BMs for 3 minutes if I don't have a cloak (use a watch or the EVE clock, it's easy).

Yeah mate, this would be very nice and handy. But you have to think about on the other hand that wspace should be dangerous and unknown like it was planned. So use the timestamp only, be fine, feel in advantage that you're knowing this.
The more "help" is inserted into wspace make it less to get these freekills, these 'oh gosh why i fckin' cant jump back' guys.
Don't fix wspace into newbro space where all get their help.

gonna be hard to make. there isnt a unique part of a wormhole connection that we can see. so it could give wrong information. ie with 2 connections between a wormhole. so for which one is the polorization timer tell me XD or what i would maybe like more is some sort of count down on the object itself in space or overvieuw or on the jump button.

A timer while on grid would be very useful. Especially for newbros who enter wormholes and don't even know the mechanic exists.

Because every second I can look at the hole I just jumped into without the carebears knowing is a win for me.

As to the topic of the thread: The biggest thing I like about wormholes is that there's something of an art to living here. WH life sucks, and we kind of take pride in that. Rolling holes perfectly and under stress, or knowing how have 100% complete hole control, or knowing when your polarization timer is up are examples of that art. It belongs to the people who have experience here, and I don't want wormholes to be made so easy that there's no longer any mystery.

Might as well add exact mass and time left to the info window on wormholes.

If you enable timestamps in your local channel you can see when you last switched systems. That along with arithmetic and your system clock will tell you what you need to know.

This. It shouldn't be hard (tip: it isn't) to keep track of this. Yet another timer ticking down on screen somewhere will simply add to the overall visual clutter from various cycle timers for modules, depot timers, combat/aggression timers all vying for attention, many of which are locational/situational already.

RE-quoting because it's still relevant and accurate.

In short - No.

I'm right behind you

99% totally agreed mate, exactly that's the point.
The last sentence would be my 1%, just of because the peeps who are really interested to be in jspace, use their mapping tools and so on. no big deal to put your mass and time-calc into it.

Because it is important to be able to jump into a camp and have time to bookmark before you have to try warping away.
Also you always need time to load the grid otherwise the othe side has a huge advantage.

Jumping every WH in Thera in quick succession would make it a UI nightmare if they showed a timer for each one. It's completely useless if they don't though because then it doesn't really give any information

Pretty much this.
Polarization is wormhole specific but not system specific, so each wormhole has 2 timers on it on each side, which means one jup generates 2 timers in 2 different systems at the same time, on top of which, given the structure of w-space chains, there's a good chance you'd jump multiple wormholes in a short time span, which means multiple timers the game keeps track of, with no real corelation to the information that would be displayed on your screen. Do you want the J sig with revelant timers? there would be a few per Jsig. Do you want wormhole type with its timers? most people don't remember wormhole designations.
