Get some glasses? That would probably help you spot the glaringly obvious flaws in the old font too (not to mention the vast improvements the new one offers).

Anyways if i could put a bet on at the bookies, CCP chaning back to the old font will be one of them.
If you want to throw away money like that, I'm willing to take it off your hands.

Why don't you try quoting my whole statement, instead of cherry picking bits to quote...

The new fonts are not improved, my eyes feel blury when i read it, its tiring... the new font also requires theuser to move their eyes more to read a sentance, how is that more user friendly?

Another thread with more bitching and whining? Don't you guys have anything better to do? I didn't have a problem with the old font and don't have a problem with the new one.

Read that quote over and over until it sinks into your head that notebooks are not gaming systems.

Gaming on a fifteen inch screen? And then complaining you can't see anything?

Get over it, pal and get a decent gaming rig.

I did. It's not my fault if you edit your mistakes at a later time.

It's more user friendly because the increased readability lets you use fewer “stops” with more accuracy as you scan the line, and because they also offer functionality to let you take in more in each step.

Improvements all around.

I haven't installed Crucible yet, but when I saw the new font on SiSi, it was easier to read, and there was more distinction between similar characters, so it seems to me to be an improvement. I admit it would be nicer if it was smoother/cleaner, but as has been said before (repeatedly), Functionality > Looks, especially when it comes to fonts used in places where function is important.

Although, your complaint doesn't seem to be about aesthetics, but about some kind of reduction in functionality. Which makes no sense at all to me...with UI scaling and the new font, pretty much everything should be easier to read.

BTW yeah, play EVE on a larger screen if you want it to look its best. I played on a smaller screen once because my larger one died, and it was sucktacular.

The new font just hurts. It feels like 1995. I really have to strain to read it. I can't see playing more then a couple hours without some serious eye exhaustion.

I see that some people like it. Hopefully CCP will just add an an option to select which font we prefer to use.

Why does this remind me of the time when they changed the old fitting window to the new one? And the sh*t storm that ensued?

I'm not seeing anyone crying over the old fitting window now; and I bet noone will be crying over the old font by the time the next expansion/patch comes around.

That's because your eye has to move more with this new font, an i think CCP haven't tested it on smaller monitors...

I posted this elsewhere on one of the million other 'i hate the font' posts... located: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=39120&p=5

The font is fine... People forget the reason for the font change and that is to increase scalability of the game itself.

As a player who plays eve on a very large TV, the old font was unreadable at best. I would have to get 3 inches from the screen in order to vaguely make anything readable.

On my TV i set my UI scaling to 110% and it works perfect, while on my monitor I set it to 90% and it looks okay. Now I would however like to get the fonts even smaller on my monitors (non TV's) so having an 80 and 75% UI scale would be a good thing.

But in really the whole 'i hate this font!' is nothing new, we've hated the old font for years and now you hate the new font. CCP will never be able to cater to everyone, nor should they. With this patch the new font is all about UI scalability, and that functionality works surprisingly well. So great job on that CCP - much appreciated.

For all you whiners out there, scale your UI down to 90% and if the chat fonts are still too large click the a- button on your chat windows to reduce the size and it looks great. That is until CCP implements or decides if they implement different scalability options.

If that doesn't work for you and you still want to act like stupid insolent children feel free to visit the account management page and cancel your subscriptions and never play EVE again. Honestly, no one will miss you and your disappearance from the game will only make EVE a better world for the rest of us.

Thus far, great job on the patch CCP! Excited to see more of this new side from you, hope it continues in this positive way for many patches to come!!

No you don't, due to the improved legibility, and for smaller (and larger) monitors, there are new options to give you a better fit.

If you have issues reading the new font, try playing about with the UI scale. I've a fairly small monitor and I've found switching to 90% scale works better for me.

Why do you make a good patch and then let it down with something like FONTS!! LOL!
Why change something that no one has a problem with?
You just add fuel to the fire with every patch by doing stupid things like this.

A quote from my corpie "UI is fked up and the new font looks like something a girl would use on her blog lol"

Anyways Nice patch! apart from the fonts ofcourse...

You have to be living under a rock to think no one was complaining about the old font. The new one is a marked improvement.

Cool story bro,
Normal people don't use TV'S toplay EVE.
How many people use screens bigger than 21", i would love to know those statistics.

So change the font, for the small majority of whiners, whining the old font was to small..

Understood that CCP is aiming for the new technologies and stuff but I play at 15" brand new MacBook Pro that costs like hell and I can't see anything anymore with this font. Every single irrelevant tab is enlarged, character spacing is HUGE and everything is so heavy to read. Why don't you guys simple install this Arial if you want to change something? Or have us pick what font we would like to use. This is horror and I have HARD time to play!

Costs like hell =/= better than.

With what you spent on that Mac, you could have a decent gaming computer with three 24" monitors. Seriously. Look at your EvE through that, and see what you think...

Or just buy one of those 27" "Cinema" displays.... but your MBP won't have enough horsepower to drive all those pixels well anyhow Pirate

Although I must say, it probably WOULD be a nice comfy experience to sit in front of your giant livingroom TV and play EvE. Just grab your wireless mouse+kb, some bluetooth headphones & mic, and have a beer :) If the UI scales this well, I may install EvE on my HTPC and throw my old spare 4870 1GB on it, and play spaceships on my 55"....

Sup brah, 21+ inches since 2008. Maybe you should get a job to make some money to upgrade to this decade of tech rather than being stuck in 2007.

Also "small majority"? cool contradiction bro. A majority is larger than the minority by definition.
