The new explosions don't last long enough.
They are embarrassing compared to the epic blue ball of light literally everyone on grid noticed.
They were satisfying. What we have no is like a coitus interruptus. No fun at all.

Yes I miss the old bright blue actinic flares from a ships dying reactor. Big smile
They should bring those back, with the newer more adaptive lighting system those should look awesome as all ships reflect bright blue briefly after a ship dies.

Now I didn't take this, but the bright blue lens-flared explosion in the lower left is by the looks of it a dying Dreadnought.
This was only 2 years ago, so essentially during the transition from Trinity 1.0 to the Trinity 2.0 engine.
The shipmodels are updated, as were the planets, but the effects were still the original ones I think.

Yeah, definitely lot's of good content available in this game to create excellent screen shots.

I do not think people know the meaning of the word Epic. Or maybe Webster updated the definition and it now refers to self edification of no interest to anyone else.
