Actually it is not easy. The new font is not just a new font, it is a new system for the font. If you read the dev blog that announced the font you will notice that they announced several technical changes to the system. Several times now Punkturis has said it is not possible.

It is 13 pages long and Punkturis is actually responding in that thread. If you have questions that is probably the best place for you to get an answer from her.

Edit: Sorry I shouldn't have said "not possible" as anything is possible with enough time and money. Point still stands though, it is not worth the effort.


Punkturis responded twice with no information, and what do they mean "not possible?" What the hell did they do. It should be a very easy feature to add.

What did they do? Hard code all the positions for the text?

The new font is stored in EVE's .stuff files and appears to be in OpenType (.otf) format.

Assuming they're using the standard file format it really shouldn't be that much work to swap the .otf files for a different font, or add an option to select from a list of multiple fonts.

Of course it all depends on the architecture of their UI code. If they have proportions hard-coded, for example, then it would be a lot of work to make changes...however if that were true then it would be somewhat poorly-designed Roll.

Now if some enterprising individual could work out a way to replace the stuffed .otf files... Twisted
