Carrier as mobile base

Hello, lately I have gotten bored and have been searching for something interesting to do so I thought Id move out to null sec for a bit to do some long term exploration/rating/pvp. My current plan is to use a carrier as a mobile base to store my ships and any loot i pickup. Ive gotten a general list of ships I plan on taking but wanted some opinions on anything ships I may have missed that would be useful to bring along. Here is my list so far

crow - scouting
astero - data and relic sites / scouting
t1/faction battleship - ratting anoms
navitas x 5 or 10 - disposable cyno
tengu - running combat sites
t1 destroyer - salvaging
prowler - hauling loot/high sec shopping

Im also thinking about taking a force recon for the reduced cyno time and the reduced fuel will save more space for loot and salvage but im not 100% sure if its better to just pack more t1 frigs instead but i like that i could possibly use it as a cloaky scout as well. I also havent decided on what ships would be good for null pvp. I've heard of people using pilgrims but other than that Im not sure.

Anyways thats my plan so far and yes i do expect to lose my carrier and its contents sooner or later but as they say isk is just a means to an end so i figured id try something new and see how far my luck and skill will take me. Id be appreciative of any advice and suggestions!

Just remember, any expensive/fancy/capital ship that is found, will be ganked until it dies.

Always have an army of alts and corp/alliance mate at the ready to bail you... That's pretty much how EVE is now a day.

Back in the days, you could undock a carrier, and not a single f*ck was given.

Been around since the beginning.

I already plan on losing it sooner rather than later. The risk of getting it caught is part of the fun :P

I guarantee you just made pl's watchlist.

I'd look into the bowhead rather than a carrier but that's just me.

The issue with the bowhead is it doesnt have a jump drive and it has virtually no cargo for loot/ammo. Not to mention how insanely overpriced its going to be for awhile when the first batches start rolling off the assembly line. As far as being watchlisted goes i know better than to post something like this on my main :P

You might as well just bring a Thanatos into a C5 and do some pro Keith Planck style carebearing :D if you plan on losing it eventually anyways.

Sounds fun! Don't let the naysayers scare you off.

Remember you wont be able to dock in Nulsec without permission from the locals (which you wont get) so fit a cloak and set up a variety of safespots for the carrier, preferrably out of D-scan range of gates, stations or the path between gates and stations.

I envy you your future gypsy lifestyle.

Edit - more cheap cynos rather than using a recon... it will be cheaper!

Don't recommend solo players jumping into carriers heading to null... You'll most likely get killed as soon as you're spotted
