Am I the only one getting this?

Strange glitch... seems to affect basically every scorpion, and the occasional stargate.

Using 2 radeon 6850's in crossfire mode, although i've turned one off and seem to get similar results.

This is another ancient bug. My oldest screenshot with this kind of artifacts dates july 2010.

It is somehow related to HDR, so switching HDR off gets rid of the effect, or at least makes it less noticable.

I have been getting this occasionally on various objects for quite some time. Using a radeon HD5870.

I would tell you to update your drivers, but I have the latest ones and its exactly what you would expect.

Way back this was related to Anti aliasing.

this is what you see when a sprite texture fails to load

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

Your graphic issues are comming from your GC

Update your ATi display drivers/DirectX eventually - think about upgrade for something better than ATi for gaming

It's AA combined with HDR causing this, if I recall correctly. So switching off one or the other should yield a result. I never had the patience to fiddle with driver settings and don't like edgy graphics so turning HDR off was a no-brainer for me.

Turning off HDR would just shrink the blobs to dots.

Clear your cache and turn off HDR and should fix it.

Yea thanks guys, pretty much hit the nail on the head. I just decided to sacrifice HDR and no trouble now.

Really seems stupid such an old bug hasn't been fixed yet though.

actually no. it's coming from the game failing to load the textures into graphics memory. so no texture is applied to the sprite, so it comes out as white polygons with the environment lights applied to them.

clearing cache, and possibly turning off HDR (eve's HDR implementation is somewhat buggy) should resolve it.
