I bought Eve Online through Steam 1 year ago.

I have encountered a serious problem that does not let me start Eve Online. I tried to use steam to connect to Singularity by using Steam's Launch Options. I managed to get eve to connect to it but then it wouldn't start and it asked me to sign in even though I use Steam.

I went back to Tranquility and it would not connect either, it would jam at "Initializing" at the menu and I tried using the repair tool and it failed. I then tried completely uninstalling the game and re-installing it but it didn't stop the problem

I also encounter an error screen whenever I start Eve Online saying this "Exception during UpdaterModule.Update" as its first line.

I tried using both reinstalling and using the Eve Repair Tool and I cannot play Eve Online unless I get a solution

Please be thorough and patient. Id expect a GM to get back to you within a reasonable amount of time (12-24 hours), although im sure the system is currently overloaded with the frivolous tickets put in by the people who want to play off the Rhea UI as a bug or defect or any other number of things.

Under no circumstances post in General Discussion about wait times, as you will not find comfort within these walls. Big smile

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

OP, first of all you made a HUGE mistake, by going thru Steam and buying Eveonline thru them, you literally have to sign in using your steam credentials instead of your Eve credentials.

There are other threads tho however that will point you in the right directions in to what to do in this regard. Personally, going thru the official download page for the Eve client woulda saved you a monster headache, best of luck.

Personally I never liked the idea of giving out bank information to really anything. It took a lot for me to do so on Steam and I've honestly only heard Eve: Online from 1 person at the time. After finding it on Steam I bought it there to see what the fuss was about. However maybe buying it from the site directly has its obvious advantages but I don't want to pay for a game twice, especially because I have built about 17 million SP on the steam account already. So I am stuck with the steam bought version to me
