Pics or it didn't happen!

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

We should have some highlight footage ready for the Stream tomorrow. I'll also try to get the source footage, all 90 minutes, on youtube for you guys to study for next year ;)

It was an absolute blast, despite my, er.... performance. Thank you all for setting this up and making it such an incredible event, and I hope it can take off for next year!

Meanwhile, I'm going to be soaking these joints and muscles for the next week.

So on the topic of football could any of the devs or previous fanfest attendees point me to a good bar that will be showing premier league matches over the weekend? Also I've sort of mucked up as I'm attending the blue lagoon party on the Sunday, I don't suppose blue lagoon will have any coverage of the Liverpool United match at 1330? Bit of a long shot on the Sunday mind but thought I'd ask Lol

Try the English pub near the laundromat cafe they may have it on or the Celtic cross they are the only two that are springing to mind

Thanks again Puck for throwing this together.

My knees are still recovering and its looking like I didn't break my finger on one of the few half decent saves I managed to pull off. But I sure helped give a couple of devs some pretty impressive highlights on a few shots when I picked the wrong choice of the 2 I had available.

And hopefully the Dev with the short spikey gray hair isn't too upset for me taking him out right after I took over goal.

Sorta bummed the player jerseys didn't have names or numbers like the devs, and my bro didn't get one because we were a few minutes late. Thanks Shimozu for starting the game and giving it your best.

Can't wait for the highlight for the game :) except the hotel internets can't stream very well.

Regarding the lack of names, that was intended. Simply because we couldn't guarantee that everyone would actually show up, and it would be a waste of a perfectly good shirt if that happened. As to the numbers missing, that was on me. I just assumed that the printers would assign random numbers to those shirts, seeing as I didn't provide any specifics, but they didn't. It was up to me to make sure there was no misunderstanding, and I failed to do that. Sorry.

If we do this again, it would be best if the team could secure its own named shirts. Each unit would be pretty cheap, so it's not too much to ask, and that way you could design them from scratch, and not have some lame dev like me do it. It also just looks much better to have names on the back.

Yeah, no worries, not like you were busy with fanfest or anything, I'm going to look into getting name and number on the back of mine anyways, since I'll probably wear it on a halfway regular basis.

eventually found my way back home after getting litterly lost in the the west fjords the days after fanfest. It felt pretty low-sec out there to be honest Cool

So, once more to CCP, especially Puck; thanks again for that amazing, fun kick-start at fanfest!

I'm sorting out the pics we got from the field and i'll post a link or something for those who want them. Soon (TM).

any news on that? i know it's probably a pretty filesize, but i could provide exclusive webspace to share it amongst the ballgorns for 'analysing'.

The short bit on the stream was neat (just before the 4 hour mark on Thursday's stream), but a lot of the clips or trimmed almost too short, and there was next to no use of the behind goal gopro except the one where I forgot how wide a full size goal was and tried to dive across but couldn't quite reach :(

And the white balance on the video was off, I don't know how easy that is to correct with video as compared to still photos.

I thought CCP was snapping oodles of photos or did they give them all to you to sort out? Or did you just bring your own camera? I had brought mine but left it in the bag once I got on field as there were already 2-3 cameras going at it pretty good.

The photos were put up by Logibro here:

Facebook album

It should be accessible by everyone since the album was made public. I do have the source footage from the game, and will be exploring options to get it out there.

Cool, though I would have turned the shutter up a little higher personally, 250 is a little slow for soccer, but I'm also used to a 300mm lens so I need the faster shutter. I guess it all depends on what the ISO was at and how noisy the ISO got at higher levels.

I want to tag myself and my brother but it seems I would need to add him as a friend and I don't know how many random players he would accept as friends just to tag some pictures. Thats why I like group albums like this posted on event/company/product pages as it is much easier to tag, all that is needed is to like that page.

Or I might download a few of the pics we are in and repost them in my own album from my fanfest trip.

There are some great shots in that album! And the ones of me make look like a complete putz (which... isn't far from the truth really.) Thank you so much for showing us this album, and maybe I'll tag myself when I get home.

Just had a look at the photos, they are awesome. If i can make fanfest next year i will definitely be joining you all again. if we can reduce it to like a 5 goal loss that would be good progress aswell :p

I wish I would have been there on time, and that I had played goalie in the last few months or had even played on a full size field in the last couple years. Considering the last 15 minutes of the first half when I got onto field was my warmup I didn't do terrible, but I kept forgetting how much wider the goal was compared to my typical 6v6 indoor league. And it was kinda dark, and my knee was bum, and I found out after the fact I missed the best Aurora show in decades during the game :(

But enough excuses, I probably won't be back next year as I am nearly completely broke now, still no job (couple more interviews lined up this week), so vacation and money will be a thing to keep a tight reign on the next year or two to recoup from the last 9 months without any income.

But maybe in 2 years I'll come out again, when it is in May and a little greener and less cold windy snow.
