Crucible Expansion

Positives, (I'm sure I'll find more as I go along):
1. I love the nebulae. Really beautiful.
2. Increased ship details are nice.

Negatives:
1. It still seems to immediately lock up on my MacPro although bizarrely I can play it fine on my less powerful MacBook Pro. I've tried everything so far to no avail. Bah!
2. There's not enough font size control. The settings only seem to affect a certain amount of text on the screen and a lot stays resolutely big - urg!
3. The graphics are really beautiful but to me the general feel of the interface feels a lot more clunky and large than the previous version.*

*If I could get the bloody thing to run on my MacPro (20" screen X 2) it wouldn't be so bad but the screen on my MacBook Pro is just 13"!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. When I die, all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

since the patch im unable to open any of my anchored containers (there are 2 with the same password) i've typed in the password but it says its not right :/ i've checked and double checked its right but no joy, luckly there isnt much in them but not sure if its a problem caused by the patch.

Doesn't seem like it. I've done everything trying to get feedback on this. Mainly, was this intentional? I realize of course that the "fix" was. I'm wondering if the consequences of this change were fully thought out though. I'd also like to know, since drone anoms weren't in any way balanced with this patch, if they will be soon™ and if so, exactly when soon™ will be.

I've gotten no replies on the forums and when I opened a petition I got the generic "I'm afraid GMs cannot discuss or make any decision regarding game design. ". Nor has a GM or Dev felt the need to reply to the topics started about it in GD (other than to lock one and point it here).

CCP, I'm not really sure why you've declined to comment on this issue at all, but I'd really appreciate some feedback on our feedback. I was told this was where I should go to post such issues I saw with Crucible. This of course goes for all feedback being given here, not just this issue (though of course this is the one I'm interested in). I'm trying to refrain from crossposting in a dozen different places to try to get a reply, but at the moment I feel like you're all busy posting replies to the Crucible trailer thread and not reading this.

Edit: PS, if this is because you're unsure of how to answer this, or exactly what damage you may or may not have cause, etc. That's fine, just let me know that you don't have the metrics at this time, but will be looking at them and balancing them next. I can handle waiting a little while, I'm just uncomfortable with a vague "we didn't do them" because CCP has a bad track record of getting back around to things they've missed (which is one thing you guys have worked on with this expansion, I hope it continues).

Took me 2 tries downloading the patch to get ONE that worked. Repair tool, AS USUAL, did absolutely nothing to fix ANYTHING - why CCP even bothers with that total waste of time effort and bandwidth I do not understand.

UI changes broke a lot of stuff. Autopilot no longer optimises. nebula and instation backgrounds so bright they wash out the UI. UI font issues got WORSE. Had to completely FIX my UI layout again - only to have the broken "smartwindow" DISfuntionality procede to mess up half of my setup before I even got it finished the first time around.

SO far, I'm seeing nothing but MINUSES out of this expansion, which makes 3 in a row for CCP.

Says a lot to me that PLEX pricing has gone into MAJOR COLLAPSE the day after this turkey of an expansion was relased.

OK, I do have to concede that the new font is more readable - but it appears to be more readable because the NON-ADJUSTABLE SIZE of the font got noticeably bigger, more than the actual font changes helped. And the changes to the "Route" display on the main screen overall are nice, makes that more readable - so I guess this expansion isn't a TOTAL loss as far as I'm concerned, just 98% of a loss.

As a whole, I really like the expasion! Thumbs up!

Negative for me is that things takes up way to much room on the screen now, for example in "items". Also, whay does the logo in "station services" have to take up 1/3 of the screen height?

I have feelings, I can smile - and murder while!

Dumb complaint. Stacking the cargo hold with the hangar is ok - but the client does not remember that I've separated cargo when I go back into a station.

I haven't been able to check out a lot yet, but from what I've experienced so far I'm very happy with this expansion Smile
Captain Quarters seems more ressource hungry though than with Incarna.
Also I like the new font.
Download and update went also smooth for me.

Thanks and keep up the good work CCP!

Epic fail on the PI changes. The taxes are WAY overdone. Also if POCO's are gonna be that easy to take out then they need to be super cheap to put up.

When you first introduced PI pos fuel costs went up enormously. Now they are going to go up even more. CCP are you just trying to get players to stop having pos's?

Terrible changes, this does not balance anything at all. In fact it complicates the game and the markets further, which is the last thing EVE needs.

You took something that was working perfectly fine and broke it. Just another way for you to continue chasing people away from the game.Evil

Well overall a very nice expansion. Lots of good tweaks, good graphic overhaul.

The bad is the tax rate for pi. I can't afford rl money to play the game and need to buy plex. I did this with pi factory planets. Right now they are not worth it anymore.
Setting up poco's in low sec is also not wise for me since I cannot defend them. Will have to look into other isk making options. Probable train one character for joining the vanguard bandwagon and let the pi accounts get inactive.

So bottom line for me is that it is still a great expansion, but will cost ccp an account or 2.Big smile

Thank you CCP for this awesome expansion!

I love almost every part of the update, with very few exceptions. Read this as a constructive feedback on
the game in general, now that you are fixing the small things that have annoyed us for years :D

One of the very few bad things to come out of the new patch is the new skins for the gallente shuttle and
some of the navy variants (Federation Navy Comet, Raven navy issue other Caldari Navy issue ships). I
understand that the gallente shuttle had to be put in line with the other gallente tech I skins, but I
will still miss the yellow boat (like I miss the brass colored dominix from before Trinity). But I have
never understood why spaceships should be colored after patterns that are used as camouflage on planet
surfaces. I particularly dislike the new ACU pattern for Caldari Navy. It would be much cooler (and
realistic) if the ships had other paint jobs. The Khanid ships are by far the most badass looking ships
in the game (please never change the deep black with blue ligts, thank you). Maybe the Caldari Navy could
be deep blue (still connection to the Navy on earth, but more spacy) or have large metallic looking
parts, reflecting the new nebulae. A silvery or blue metallic look would suit the dark grey of caldari on
the special issue ships IMO.

The new feature of showing the alliance jump bridges on the star map is very welcome, but it isn't really
useful at the moment. 1., it only shows JBs belonging to you own alliance instead of the jump bridges you
can use. With the new mechanics (no password) it should be possible to see allied JBs on the map (and you
should be able to fuel them, I do not know if this can be done now). 2., the autopilot should be able to
use the JB information to calculate a route. I am not sure that the autopilot should be able to jump you
through a JB, but no one autopilots 0.0 anyway (If they want to get to the destination alive). 3., it
should be possible to color the jump bridge lines (curves) independently of the others for greater
distinction and readability.

It is about time that the skill queue gets integrated in the character sheet. Since the original
implementation I have found it strange that you have to open the queue from the 'skills' tab, only to get
the exact same information (your curent skills) dublicated to a new window. Why aren't the queue just
showing right next to the skill list? With the new interface this is double strange, since the two are
scaled slightly different and thus not aligning vertically (design ocd nightmare).

The drag and drop market feature is awesome, but the market needs a more thoughout overhaul. In stead of
just dragging fits to the market quickbar, you should be able to drag anything into, not just the
quickbar, but anywhere in the market window. Say I have an item in my hagar and want to buy more, then I
just drag it into the market window and voila! If I drag a ship from the ship hangar into the market
window I should get the info for the ship itself if it is unfitted and a folder with the fit in quickbar
if it is fitted. The 'show market info' option in the right click context menu should take you to the
relevant page in the market (as it does) and open the relevant market group (like EFT does it). Then you
can easily browse to other meta levels.

One thing that irritates me more than it should (I have written this in two other feedback threads in the
past year) is the inconsistency between market groups and item sorting. Please, please fix the 'sort by
type' or add a 'sort by market group' option that does exactly that, sorts your items by market group. Of
course nested exactly like they are on the market. The 'Group' identifier on each item has absolutely no
value at all. I don't care that 'confiscated viral agent' is 'biohazard'. I can find it in the market
under 'trade goods > radioactive goods'. The other trivia (biohazard) belongs in the description.
water and oxygen should be placed with the planetary items where they belong. Mercoxit mining crystal is
sorted before all the others because it has the group 'Marcoxit mining crystal', all the others have the
group 'Mining crystal'. Wtf?!

The drag and drop feature in eve should work more like it does in Windows and Mac OS: if you click and
hold on some item the window containing that item should not go to the front. It is extremely annoying
that the target window always gets hidden behind the window containing the item. Also, the window
handling itself could need some love. Double clicking on the window bar on top should maximize the window
to screen resolution (minus neocom), not collapse it (or you should have the ability in settings to
choose behavior, then bittervets won't complain). I love the windows handling in Windows 7 (drag to top
to maximize, drag to left to fill left half of screen, double click bar to maximize) you could make
capsuleers lives easier stealing those ideas.

Again, I would like you to know that I am really impressed with all the new features, and I love playing
the game. It is only because the game means something to me that I have taken the time to write all this.
After this expansion I now believe that something will be done to adress these issues!

Cheers!

I am probably repeating something that has been said many times but CCP every thing is awesome in this patch but one thing. Your new Teir 3's? Take them back to the drawing board on their stats, they look great but are not HALF of what you made them to be. I got the Tornado and yeah good sniper... So? Thats boring and all this ship is good for is suicide ganks. Oh and clearing EWAR off a field of battle. Oracle is the only one worth looking at and its still meh. I guess my thoughts are that you get very little out of a ship that is VERY skill intensive. Oh and I thought Caldari are the race who use missiles because you really seem determind to leave us with MEH Blaster boats. Otherwise good job and I might dust off my Tornado if you make it worth it.

I think most of what you have done is great and really hope that this is just the first step, keep going with the good work and continue the balancing, improvements and enhancements.

That said I am horrified at the fact that the ability to search through your assets has been reduced to just a single string. I place wide area buy-orders and really need to not only search by name but also by quantity. When I have trit in practically every station, I want to know the stations where there are more than 1,000,000 units. Why did you do this?

I also dislike the way windows are grouped and the only option not to group means that every time you open a window, it is at the default size and position. As the size is too small, you first need to expand the window. Then as the position is never going to be right as it appear over the previous window, you then need to move the window. So that is too much hassle to use, so using the grouped windows is the only option (that does not cause the amount of rage that results in k/b being driven through monitor).

Finally, when you log out and the client restarts, the password box no longer has focus which is slightly annoying.

Sorry of these issues have already been mentioned but the thread is too long for me to read all of it.

I haven't really played yet, so I pretty much have only seen the new nebula and warp tunnels, which I do like . What I really dislike though, is the UI scaling or rather the new font. The typewriter font you have choosen is way to big when scaled to 100%, while everything else, like labels and stack sizes, is the same size as before. If you scale down to 90%, the new font, while still rather ugly, has an acceptable size while everything else is too small. Especially the stack sizes, which are almost unreadable while sitting half a meter away from the screen. You probably - hopefully - had a reason to use a different font, but the sizing definitely needs some tweaking.

Also, load times are way up now. It's taking me now 15 or more seconds of black screen before anything shows up on startup, while it may have been 5 seconds before the patch. Ingame loading seems to be slower, too.

So far, nothing much has changed.

Yo everyone,

im too lazy to write the same again, so here some copy paste from another topic:

" While i agree with most of the changes, i find that ccp hit too hard on the dram's speed.
It used to go 6k, nau its 5k... dats not 'slightly' slower... dats a totall smack in the face lol.
Generelly, it seems that things got nerfed/buffed bit too harsh in this expansion.

Imho, the Dram is supposed to be the fastest thing in space. Sure it was too fast.
But nau, its just 'some' frig...
Also, why on earth does it have a drone bay?
Its one of the smallest frigs, a drone bay just doesnt make any sense here...
It shud be removed n just added to gun dps.. what ya say?

R.I.P Dramiel, Welcome Daredevil :D "

...other than that, ccp u made a fantastic job.
The game looks n feels so awesome nau, thank you!
