Seeking advice on content for returning player

Hello all,

So in background - EVE is my guilty pleasure. Had the account forever, and still come back to the game on an off. The one thing that always seems to suck is that due to EVE's systems, the bulk of all the ships are usable only in some specific circumstances.

I've PVP'ed in the past, but no longer have time to commit to it as much as I'd like to get back into 0.0 roaming and fleets. So, these days I'm restricted to small bursts of PvE - which usually means mission running. Level 4s can be fun and at times challenging enough (yay just pulling the whole pocket), but those are restricted to battleships and t3 cruisers.

I want to fly a wider array of ships than just that. I have 2 t3 cruisers and numerous battleships, but I don't really have a good handle on what my PvE options are if I wanted to fly say, the new t3 destroyer, assault frigs, HACs, or battlecruisers for example.

Exploration seems to be the obvious answer since at least in .5 systems I don't remember getting much BS spawns in combat sites.

Dropping to L3 missions is another obvious answer, but those are just way too easy when you have a good fit, and if I remember right the income just isn't there.

So, while I know the beating heart of EVE is PvP and flying with other people, due to time constraints those aren't very viable options for me.

Does anyone have any advice on fun and hopefully challenging content to try (including exploration suggestions) as a sadly solo player that would let me get out of a BS/t3 cruiser hull?

Much appreciated!

welcome back.
Sounds like highsec mercenary work might be for you.
PvP can range from large standing fleets to small gangs to solo hunting and as such there's always a couple of varied roles you could fill.
some busy work granted(wachlisting war targets, running locator agents) but nothing excessive.

While we aren't openly recruiting walk ins without a reference from someone we know, plenty of the other mercs are.

Head over to crime and punishment where you can find the mercenary advertising(lots of chestbeating trash talk but Don't be put off, there good guys in there if a little rough around the edgesPirate).

Ralph beat me to it, I was going to suggest the same thing with the addition that there are some casual HS PVP/Merc corps out there that don't require huge amounts of your time.

He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.

He will win who, prepared himself, waits to take the enemy unprepared.

Ganking miners is also much more interesting than ganking NPC pirates.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Might give incursions a try. Group PvE is a lot more fun than solo L4s.

Check out the burner missions and the new exploration content. Once you're bored of that look into NPSI community fleets and random short roams.
