Ok the UI is here - personally I have gotten used to it and tweaked it to working for me - there are some advantages and some problems but here is how I worked it, and I thought I would share as I have read some are having issues with this and might not have done this to compensate.

1. Disable Blur
2. Disable all blink notifications on the NEOCON and on all tabs.
3. Transparency to 0
4. Choose Carbon as your theme.
5. Pin all windows that you want to - I do all that will stack into one window with tabs, minus industry that I keep separate, the IGB and fitting (which can't be pinned).

For FPS hit = ctrl+F9 off/on and check with ctrl+f and this should help if your loosing rate.

I run with AA and PP disabled, and shadows off, LOD on Medium and the rest on High, HDL(R)? off, and cache enabled - just FYI - I get about 40-60ish FPS all the time with a Laptop 9800m GS card in an older ASUS ROG rig.

It would be so helpful if they included a button to revert back to the old scheme color/transparency UI settings, but hey this is Eve. Why make things easy? Good job on the tweak settings.

Yeah, Carbon is the only acceptable scheme for me, it's not good, but it works for now. I think the main problem is the highlighting of selected windows.

I'm my own NPC alt.

Yeah, I'm on the same boat
I really don't like the "all or nothing" opacity slider

Used dark opaque for years to make all useful things clearly visible, and the things like window background completely see through

Now the opacity slider just seems to make things hard to see

Okay, the UI is here and I love it. Here's some recommendations for you:

1. Leave it like it is, except the color scheme. Fiddle with that if you like.

2. Avoid these forum posts where people are trying to elevate themselves by criticizing things they don't comprehend.

3. Remember: Aesthetic taste isn't something you get watching The Cartoon Network, so you might want to learn something about what's good art and what's stuff TV watchers like.

4. Family Guy isn't real, so don't fall for it like is.

5. Take care of yourselves. Get plenty of rest.

6. Learn to recognize Dylan quotes.

Ive found that simply changing the transparency to less transparent makes, at least for me, a new player who wasn't totally use to the old system, the UI a fantastic upgrade, I love the new look.

I might later on mess with removing the blur from the overview.

It seems a lot more customizable than before, which is good, obviously the default settings were probably not going to work for most people ect.

I just wish they could better integrate the "locked targets" and instead of having them as circle on the top right of my screen perhaps a listed window more like the overlay but with health ect...maybe more like the drone window less like it is currently. I hate its location and I hate the look tbh.


Other than that, love my amarr themed black and gold. looks slick. almost as slick as the polished gold ships.

You guys got bad eyes or something? Seems every visual update bugs someone in this game. Doesn't bother me 1 bit.

I keep tons of windows open and have no idea what people are complaining about. Window highlighting is subtle and hardly even noticable. Selected item highlights are much more clear now. Tabs are a little hard to see but no biggie and there are more than enough color presets for my taste. If window blur didnt destroy my frame rates I'd give it a 9/10.

And **** up the rest of your monitors uses.Not a viable option for many if not most.Eve is vastly different to everything else I use my pc for.Its also the only game I play.Serious work related programmes are much harder to set right,no way will I ruin them because a game is not customisable enough for a wide and varied user base.

Carbon is the only one I can use atm,all the others really are painful.Shame.

So many complaints, and not a single screenshot to articulate their feedback among the lot of them.

Nobody knows what you're talking about with "Dark Opaque" or any of these other "it's hurting my eyes" comments. Windows have stopped flashing when I've turned off blur and transparency.

Use pictures to tell us what you mean, or at least articulate something beyond the same reactionary UI change whining.

Good advice OP. I done all those steps asap after seeing the UI changes. However, I chose Dark Matter over Carbon. Big smile

I've done so in the Test Server Feedback Thread before it was released. Not only once.

Now I'm just complaining like a grumpy old man.

As we all know, statistically about 10% of any MMO population post in the forums. It appears that about 10% of that group don't like the new UI.
