character select screen completely black - but clickable

After rhea patch, i log into the launcher, when character select screen comes up, I see this:

everything is black except eve logo.

but all the elements are clickable, i know where my toon portrait is, i clicked it and it logged on.

EDIT - like on one of the other threads here I confirm, ui disappears to black screen when window is resized. When I start the game it starts in windowed mode in a smaller resolution, if i click to maximize window before logging my toon in, character select will go black.

I have the same issue. When launching screen is fine on initial render, goes blank except for logo when maximizing.

Same here with all three clients. I can currently login using the launcher, select a character, and then the screen remains black.

[Edit]: Waited for about 1 to 2 mins, the ship hangar in station loads, and then I get a "Connection Lost, The socket was closed" error... Quite annoying.

While this is just a suggestion for a temporary fix and in no way a viable permanent solution, try disabling desktop composition in the shortcut if using windows 7.

It would be under compatibility in the shortcut options.

Though this may not even be an option for you, or may already be set that way anyhow. Just seems to correct many problems such as this with NVIDIA drivers.

Still no fix for this CCP? Come on, at least give us a work around. It's been days now since the Rhea release and I'm still unable to check out any of your cool new bells and whistles because I'm still getting nothing but a black screen. Free Confessor or Bowhead for my lost game time please!

Found a fix!

On the Eve launcher click the "settings" icon
Go to the "Eve Client" Tab
Click both of the "clear" buttons to clear each cache (BE AWARE THAT THIS WILL DELETE ALL OVERVIEW AND CUSTOMS GAME SETTINGS)
The black screen issue should now be fixed.
