The old UI had a slider for that. I know this because I experimented with it and the overview and finally decided to make my overview 100% transparent because I didn't like having so much of my view into space blocked out.

Reading comprehension 101.

I'm not talking about the overview, I'm talking of the contextual menu, and obviously they are completely different things. It's the contextual menu that needs transparency removed, not every other window.

I certainly never claimed that the old UI didn't have a transparency slider.

Well, maybe your alien species reads things better when all letters overlap each other. Us human beings prefer at least some spacing between letters.

The font is otherwise identical, only spacing changes.

But who cares, really? This thread proved that it's like talking at a solid wall and that CCP couldn't care less if you play at odd resolutions. So it's just me and the trolls having a fun chat.

*tumbleweed*

The overview was just an example, the sliders worked generally with the entire UI. For a lark I even set the chat window to fully transparent once. This taught me: A transparent overview works, a transparent chatwindow, not so much.

So I guess the one who has trouble with reading comprehension is you. Who would have thought.

Besides maybe the interest in what you're saying would be larger if you could learn not to call every disagreeing opinion a troll. If all that leaves your mouth is nonsense, then soon no one will want to here what you say. Simple, isn't it? P

In a couple of months I would have played this game for 11 years, and yes, you read that right.

In all those years there have been a lot of these failpatches but when it has been deployed there seems to be nothing to do other than trying to accept it as it is. They are using Microsoft's philosphy, "If it works, then we MUST destroy it". It's sad but true.

I'm not sure if I will renew my subscription when it runs out. It will cost me nearly twice as much as it does now because of all the pain killers I have to eat every time I have looked at my screen in app 15 minutes.

Normally you do a great job but this is just, well, I dont have a word for it that are polite enough for the forums.

A couple of options that might make me stay would be.

1: An option to remove this annoying fading in my windows.
2: An option to make my Neocom non-transparant. (Used to be gray before.
3: Some colour sliders as before.
4: A opportunity to somehow "Reverse" the colours. (As I see it the Carbon should be somekind of black background with Grey buttons but instead it gives me a Black on Black thing without the Grey colour at all.

Oddly enough, I hardly notice the new UI anymore. It's sort of blended into the background of my gaming experience. Which, imo, is what a good UI should do.

The only thing that annoys me now is the modal popups for EVERYTHING. Seriously, when in space, nothing should stop me from being able to control my ship. Unless you like petitions that start out "So I lost another ship to a popup box..."

Yeah, but that would mean fixing and improving stuff instead of taking out options, or arbitrarily change things that work well ;)

There are a million of things broken and really bad designed in this game, but nope, better force a reskin on everyone, or make a less readable, less functional map engine.

CCP development has always been rather messy, but I'm getting the idea that some of the new ones just don't even understand where the old guys did well. The map and UI are actually some of the best things in Eve since release. It's great that they want to improve them, and then what we get? Features and options taken out and nothing that is actually functionally improved.
