I think Jade Falcons would have a conceptual problem with their batchcall practice of bidding the smaller force as possible to a fight in eve... they would get blobed to hell and toasted.

That's also called "Picking a fight with Steiner".

Remember.... there's three ways to do something.
The right way.
The wrong way.
And the Steiner way. Which is actually just "the wrong way", but with a LOT of assault mechs.

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

I just watched sleepers doing something strange with a gate... and my poor Buzzard.
U think they are working on destroying the gates? D: Maybe the structures are preparing to shut down the gates and soon the only viable option to traves are wormholes. :3

As CCP have decided that too much isk is made by incursion runners, they have decided that sleepers will run the sites in competion with us, atm sleepers are preparing forward logistical baces Big smile

Now I want to see the faces of some Incursion gang warping to a site and face a onslaught of Sleepers that have just finished blowing the Sansha to bits.

Has anyone tried to map these things out?

Has anyone let them scan the ship with Ancient Coordinates in cargohold? Or that would be to obvious, especially there are alot of those allready.

Or maybe that special item is yet to be found by explorers in new wormholes?

Without knowing what the pilot (Doombringer) is having in his cargohold those sleeper drones intercept him on random gate and gank him?

Then all hell lose upon New Eden in a few days?

Speculations I know, but infinite ideas.

It's a shame that with CCP, mysteries like this are just to drum up speculation. They never have substance, no actual solution for players to hunt for with fame and glory for those who work it out Cry

Ok Tried the Gravimetric ECM on it. the thing take over a minute to target.

No Effect. Steady, Flickering Cloaked something, around the size of a station.

So I stumbled across one of these stations in Sharji (Still there if you want to investigate). After a few minutes, as previously discovered about 5 Sleepers warped in, but they came in seperately, not all at once, began scanning the beacon, then moved to the station and began scanning that.

I began pulsing smartbombs on the station and the nearest sleeper, no observed change of behavior, they ignored me.

I called in the support of a Domi that was in system, I went back and brought in a SoE Stratios with tackle and between us we tackled and destroyed the 5 Sleeper ships (Chicada Seekers or something to that effect). They made no attempt to run, and began to scan our drones too.

Upon their destruction, I began salvage operations, recovering only scrap metal. We attempted to get close enough to the station to begin a hack, but the object appears to repel approaching ships at ranges between 5,400m and 5,260m, so we weren't able to see if there was an uplink available to hack into.

There was a Sleeper Cache in system at the same time - attempting to hack this made no change to the situation of the station. Upon a successful hack a rift was generated, which I was unable to take the Stratios through due to mass limitations. Sadly due to a failed hack previously, the station guarding the rift self destructed. Again no changes to the station were observed.

The structure appears to be a spire, with between 3 and 4 outer heatsink/fins from what we could tell from our extended observations of the structure. Black clouds as noted in previous discoveries were found surrounding it.

I would estimate that the structure was around 15km in height, possibly similar to that of a control tower?

I have extensive pictures of both the tower, and the sleeper vessels that appeared that I will upload later to the neocom for your perusal.

EDIT:

After giving up on the station, and failing to find them in the belt in system, I began to leave.

We found 5 more Circadian Seekers (For this is the vessels name apparently) scanning the gate and the Amarr Navy ships orbiting it. My new Domi friend notified me that he'd noticed the Sleepers earlier in the day, but had noted they warped off whenever he saw them - this seemingly didn't ring true now - as having locked up the the vessels they once again made no attempt to defend themselves or retreat.

After a minute or two we tackled and destroyed our 6th Sleeper ship of the venture, but as we began to engage the next they warped away. Since then we haven't been able to catch up with them.

Other notables - the system contained at least 1 active wormhole during this time.

Now what if that structure is not many but one projected through a wormhole to many places at once? Maybe it's the heart of Caroline's star, or what's left of it. The star itself seems to got sucked through something and spat out in a distance worming the dust cloud and "rings". Well, the rings can actually be spheres that look like rings because at the edges material density projects higher on a 2D perspective.

With things like this it's always been the case that CCP sits over there with the knowledge of what these things signify while we sit over here with an unsolvable puzzle.

In the hope that I'd be proven wrong, I've even taken rare/unique event items over to one of these sites to no avail. One day an event like this will mean something and drive players to engage with the game to some tangible end. For now it seems that like all mystery geo features before it, that it's just another marketing event and nothing more.

That's not to say that these sites won't form the basis for some upcoming content. Perhaps anchor points for some kind of new buildable structure or some such.

Circadian = biological... as far as we know the sleepers are robots? maybe they are not?

Sansha's may have the tech already, explaining some incursion activity

"The term circadian comes from the Latin circa, meaning "around" (or "approximately"), and diem or dies, meaning "day". " Not biological, but daily, rythmic.

Maybe for a minute a day they turn to "Exterminate!" mode.

Not sure if anyone has realized this part or not, but these scanning sleepers actually have shields on their ships unlike there wormhole counterparts. Something very strange is going on here.

I doubt an exterminate mode, there's no visible weapon hardpoints on the vessels. I think more than likely this ancient language definition suggests that perhaps they have short lifespans, that they serve their purpose, then shut down?
