Read more here.

They call for help but no information on the wormhole technology that was needed to reach Thera. Hopefully whatever the star actually is acts as a catalyst for natural wormhole connections to the colony.

Her most urgent appeal is "for capsuleers to co-ordinate and co-operate in the search for Thera and our lost colleagues".

Sooo, anyone up for a trip?

Quite the reliance on capsuleers. Are SOE not conducting their own operations?

Apparently not.

I did read that, thank you. Smile

I suppose my real question should be why the reliance? This an organisation known for its ability to perform said tasks. I find it hard to believe they would just completely abandon this missing person. I suspect if there is not something covertly happening.

So where do we start looking?

Because this having been said, every pirate faction in the galaxy is packing a POS and is already out there looking.

Assuming it's found, who will control it? CONCORD? Caldari? Amarr?

SOE would likely let all it's operations fall into ruin before asking Capsuleers for large-scale help in any regard. They are the only group in the cluster that sees them for what they really are.

One would assume it will continue to be the Sisters of Eve, sir. It is, after all, their colony, and their people in it.

Are people ignoring the possibility that 'Caroline's Star' may have been a direct result of whatever the SOE have been doing in this Thera system Sister Taya mentions. I wouldn't put it past them to have been meddling in things they shouldn't have

Shitposts so bad CONCORD gave me a 50 billion ISK bounty

That's a good question. This system is obviously not on the normal wormhole network or SOMONE would have stumbled upon it a long time ago. It might be easier if the wormhole generation technology a number of these organizations have acquired/developed, were made available to us capsuleers.

It's possible, though that that technology lead to the problem in the first place.

At any rate, I was already planning on doing some surveying this week. If this anomaly has somehow remapped the wormhole network maybe I will stumble upon something.

Someone screwed up and a colony of the humanitarian organisation in j-space probably went ka-boom. A colony in j-space.

Boy, I'm so interested in salvaging this stuff. Edit: of course, after helping out whomever I can.

Shame SoE hate us so much they won't ask for help officially.

Well, this answers a few questions, and raises a hundred thousand more.

But a request for help is a request for help. I'll get searching as soon as my ship's systems have finished integrating the new firmware update.

It doesn't look like the SOE itself is relying on capsuleers. Sister Taya has broke her oath and she is the one who is asking for help from capsuleers, without the organization's approval.
I assume it bothers her that people she worked (and possibly bonded) with might be in a dangerous situation, and since she can't get them help through the official channels, she's come to us.

TL;DR: It's Sister Taya the individual, not Sister Taya the SOE representative who's asking for help

Initial Survey -

There are four Sisters of EVE stations that are still safe to dock in, however there are several other outposts that seem almost completely destroyed. These ruins are also guarded by a small sleeper contingent and enshrouded in plasma clouds. In addition, almost all the planets in the system are shattered and coalescing back together. Whatever happened here seems very similar to Seyllin. At the center are several violent wormholes that seem to have been created by Talocan structures that the SoE seem to have been playing with. Pictures to follow, and more information as it becomes available.

How and why did SOE keep this colonization effort secret from the rest of New Eden for so long- and why are their leadership so reluctant to mount rescue operations or ask for help. Something's not right here.

I am sure the Sisters would also appreciate if you used their ships to do this recon and rescue. Totally has nothing to do with recording hardware deeply embedded in the hulls.

The first nine planets are shattered. Planets 10 through 14 are intact.

Note that requests for authorization to establish planetary mineral extraction bases have been denied to capsuleers.

There is a worrisome coincidence here. As Xindi Kraid indicated, if this Thera were within the naturally occuring w-space network of the Anoikis cluster, someone would have discovered it by now.

So either SSoE is very good at hiding wormholes, or they constructed an artificial wormhole. Last I checked, the only other organization within New Eden with that capability is Sansha's Nation.
