Greetings & Salutations,

I am Manfred Sideous and I hope to earn your vote for the Council of Stellar Management. I have been playing Eve Online for the better part of a decade. I love this game and the people that play it and care greatly for the health and well being of this game and its community. I have participated in so many cool events , wars , conflicts and made so many wonderful friendships from this community. I have traveled thousands of miles to attend weddings of players who met from this very game. I like to think that Eve is a giant epic drama unfolding before our eyes but instead of watching it we get to participate in it and shape it. No other game can rival Eve Online in how immersive and epic it is. I agree that Eve can only grow and get bigger I agree that we are still in the early years of Eve and I fully intend to be part of this game for a very long time to come.

WHO IS THIS GUY

So this game has given so much to me and I have been part of so many epic things throughout the history of this game and will continue to do so. I want to do what I can and use my knowledge and experience to give back and to help this amazing game and awesome community thrive. I want to keep adding to the above list and I want others to add to their own list and I want it to be epic and fun for ALL of us.

MY PLATFORM

My platform is pretty simple and straightforward. CCP has made really good strides over the past year in revitalizing Eve. I want to work with CCP and the Community to build upon this new foundation. In a Sandbox MMO player interaction is key for content as well as conflict drivers. Everyone from miners to builders to pvp'rs depend on reasons for us to shoot each other and make things explode. I want to see this grow and expand but inso much that doesn't lead to pointless structure grinding or mind numbing task that leave you hating yourself.

Arrow New Player Experience - n00bies are the life blood of a game. I would like to see CCP devote more effort into making the soulcrushing learning curve of Eve easier to digest. Perhaps a n00bie only area that newbies can freely leave when they are ready or after a certain point. This area could insulate them from more of the dangerous parts of Eve that a naive n00bie would typically fall prey too. Now don't get me wrong I love the fact that Eve is harsh and cold but I also know that new players have so much to take in that perhaps a soft landing for the first week or something would help them.

ArrowOccupancy Based Sov - I think the implementation is critical for nullsec to be a more inclusive diverse and entertaining environment. For long the superpowers of Eve have dictated the shape and scope of nullsec. This needs to end and needs to end yesterday. I want to see a environment that new & small groups have the ability to carve out some space for themselves without being forced into servitude or serfdom. I think Occupancy based sov could help achieve this idea. Currently sov is easy to hold and there are no real penalties for owning or controlling space you don't need or utilize. So you see large swaths of space help by superpowers that do not need it or have real use for it. The old adage of one mans trash is anothers treasure comes to mind. Furthermore there are lots of things CCP could do in a Occupancy Based model to add lots of value to sov ownership. Things like making well utilized space harder to conquer. Unlocking new benefits or allowing for more unique and customizable customization.

ArrowPlayer Operated Starbases- These things touch almost all players in all areas of space in some way or fashion. They are terrible and they have been terrible for too long. There are so many things that could be done and so many great idea's in regards to POS. I will lobby to get CCP to devote time to dealing with this (as a famous prior CSM called them) sucking chest wound.

ArrowShip Balance & Iteration- T3 cruisers are grossly out of balance as well as the ishtar. Bombers are still dictating fleet tactics in nullsec. Command Ships are still way to flimsy to reliably use them on field. Missiles are absolutely useless in anything larger than a small gang (cruise missiles have 70hp lol). Shield comps are woefully at a disadvantage to armor comps. The list goes on and on.

Arrow Nullsec Industry- Not all things should begin and end with Jita. What if there were a better way for Nullsec'rs? I think nullsec industry boost would be great for nullsec and the game overall. It would also lead to more reasons for players being in space doing things like collecting and harvesting materials and resources. Those people will be hunted so they will need people protecting the area. This gives lots of new meaningful things for attackers and defenders to do that actually make a real difference. Also this strengthens the need of non-pvp'rs to be included in nullsec. As currently 99% of players recruited by nullsec groups are PVP'rs. Allowing more dynamic playstyles is a good thing for everyone in nullsec.

Arrow Lowsec- Why is it that High Security space has all the bells and whistles and you lot are left with your hands empty? What if there was a way to offer great services to builders , refiners and researchers for a fee? Creating a system where customers could purchase benefits and protection from Faction Warfare. They pay a fee and purchase standings to the local FW or the ability to use speedy facilities or efficient facilities that are better than what they can get in high security space. Now FW have a vested interest in protecting customers or thwarting off wouldbe attackers or raiders. Also gives FW a reason to want to expand territories to have a bigger market share of business. Because business = isk into pilots pockets.

*Note - I ran for CSM9 but due to USA immigration I didn't have my passport in time. I have spoken with CCP in great detail via petition to make sure I was in fact a valid candidate for CSM 10.

Was sad to hear you weren't able to run for CSM 9, glad to see you're running for CSM 10 when your insight into sov warfare is most needed.

One of my main concerns is ship balance, and i'd like to learn more about your thoughts on it. As someone who flies T3s in a routine fashion, I'd like to hear you would balance T3s. I'd also like to know how you believe Ishtars are overpowered, do you think that sentries should be looked at as well?

This is a great campaign, and I'm sure you'll get my vote.

Out of curiosity why do you believe shield is under powered compared to armor when most major doctrines (Tengus and Ishtars) seem to be mainly shield? Is that due to the bomb driven meta or because of another shortcoming that's not coming to mind?

why do you prefer an occupancy based sov over a freeform sov approach ?

do you really want to see defensive mining fleets ?

Needs more swagger.

What are your perspectives towards the Sov. warfare's future and any ideas to improve it?

+1 for an actual bomber re-balance.

Would love to hear your suggestions on how to bring the little buggers back in line.
