Aura should have a holographic form that follows you around in CQ.

Which I then need to buy as well, and need to switch inbetween when I want to walk in my CQ and shoot ships?

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

They could possible call it "Legion"

and maybe since it's on PC, it might somehow be linked to the same client?

But I mean, if you want another batch of amazing updates to the game like Incarna was...

I do not plan to play a limited and shallow game such as a shooter. WIS and the expansion of the CQ beyond that is far more than a shooter, just as EVE is far more than a shooter. If you want to only play a shooter, Legion/DUST is probably the right game for you, but EVE is not to be turned into such a low level genre.

So you actually think the expansion of a square box; that has nothing to do inside of it except walking around and accessing menus available already via the UI interface, into a larger non-square box is less shallow then a shooting game?

You do know, the only way further WiS/Incarna development would be worthwhile, is if it's purpose is solely to integrate Project Legion/Dust Directly into the main game at a later point.

I do not think that the "expansion of a square box; that has nothing to do inside of it except walking around and accessing menus available already via the UI interface, into a larger non-square box is less shallow then a shooting game" because I think that there is more to it than just accessing menus via a bigger "non-square box". It should turn into a proper simulation with all sorts of interactions and possibilities, not just in our heads but also possible for the players to realize/manifest in the game world.

Yes, I do know that and I would very much like to see that happen sooner rather than later. It is a ridiculous situation that these games play in the same universe, yet are still not really connected. It's one step closer to that proper and comprehensive simulation of space. I am also aware of that shooter genre elements play part in that, and that is perfectly fine with me. Blink

My 2 ISKs --
The single reason why CQ will never be developed beyond its current state is us -- the Forum Trolls, the CSM & the PVP/NullSec Alliance Leadership. These three groups alone are able to drive much of the CCP Development direction. But before you stop reading this, take a quick look at the login screen at the number of people actually playing EVE. Most of the time it’s less than 40K logged in accounts. Even on the weekends it is a very rare event when more than 50K are logged in. The point I am trying to make here is that in fact the majority of players actually playing this MMO simply do not make their views and opinions known to CCP DEVs. Additionally, the vast majority of players, simply put, don’t care what CCP DEVs do most of the time. So the bottom line here is that until the day comes that the majority of development request noise coming from the Forum Trolls, CSM, and NullSec Leadership is for CQ Development, nothing will ever be done beyond what the CQ is today.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

I like the concept of Aura being holographic helper in WIS environment for new players, even ready to be summoned like a pixie in the holoprojectors across station or wandering across CQ, with recent helpfull informations and tips about gameplay, but its years from implementation I am afraid. P

I immediately thought "Aura: The Last Noob Bender". Lol.

+1 to OP. I think it would be cool to have Aura as a holographic entity in the CQ.

Edit: However, since it isn't really a necessity, I would vote for CCP to prioritize other issues first.

... interesting.

I agree that the current little multi-page windows are kind of sad, and I'm not sure it's a good idea for Aura to be dispensing skillbooks and modules in them either. I bet that that's a source of confusion for new players.

I'm not sure that speech synthesis is quite there yet. I would love to hear it try to pronounce Oraekja, or any of the other bizarrely named systems.

I wouldn't oppose this as part of a concerted attempt to make the CQ into something other than a gilded prison (and WiS something more than CQ) but I don't think it's on any near-term to-do lists.

A waste of Dev time for a feature that will boil down to "oh look, that's nice," then back to the spin counter.

NPE is a priority, and I'm sure 90% of (or more) players forego tutorials. This is sort of a problem.

I'm somewhat surprised that nobody has suggested Aura be sitting/lying on the bed in the CQ. Maybe I'm underestimating the forum-goers of EVE.

why rookies skip tutorials is a mystery, apparently. https://mobile.twitter.com/erlendur/status/538829653432369153

They can easily be skipped, you just have to look into the settings. Or ask someone in the Rookie Help chat or the Starter Corp where you are in automatically. And boring? They show you what you can do in EVE, all the things you can do in EVE: Mine, Missions, PVP, Die, General PVE, Industry, Science. Do they want to imply that all these activities are boring?
The fun part is this one tweet:
CSM.Leaks wrote:
I wanted to do stuff in New Eden, not follow a few hours of boring tutorials. That is why I skipped most.

And then people come back to the Help chat or other chats and ramble around how things are not explained properly or how these they don't understand things, while these things are clearly explained in the Tutorials. Then players have to explain them with even more text how things are done, and the other players in some cases then have to endure the "friendly and reasonable" behavior of the questioner.

pretty sure changing Aura from popups to human form would help with the interest level

it's a fundamental shift in the transaction. she goes from nagging to waiting coyly. simple icons aren't capable of this.
