Working Eve Client - Not in Programs and Features. Help?

I have upgraded my PC with a new primary HDD - as in, a fresh install of Windows on a fresh drive. My old HDD is still present, and I have full access to all files on it.

I copied my Eve directory from the old drive to the new drive. I updated the "Eve Online Launcher" shortcut properties to point to the updated \launcher\launcher.exe location (new drive), and to start in the updated directory (new drive).

It all works.

I was hoping to use the default client (EVE_Online_Installer_848647.exe) to register Eve with Windows "Programs and Features", add to the Start menu, and to clean up anything I may have missed. However, it refuses to be pointed at a non-empty directory.

I can create the start menu entries for Eve myself, but I don't know how to add to "Programs and Features" for later, easier uninstall. Also, I don't know if I've missed anything.

Anyone know how to start the Eve_Online_Installer (online version) in a mode that overrides the "empty directory" check? Am I missing out on anything by just running the launcher without the rest of the Windows registration?
