Rattlesnake what rigs

As above going to buy a rattlesnake but am not really sure what rigs would be best suited for this ship, normally i fly a tengu or golem. i would be using the rattlesnake for mainly highsec lvl4 missions.
any advice or example fits appreciated. the reason behind asking about the rigs is because i was going to buy the hull from contracts and they all have some sort of rig fitted already, seems a shame to buy them then just destroy them.

- employ range tactics using the MicroJumpDrive
- nuke small ships using sentry drones as they come towards you... then cruisers... then everything else
- cruise launchers have pretty good application against anything cruiser sized and up... even without the target painter
- the heavy drones are for VERY close quarters damage dealing. Don't let them venture more than 15km from you.


- rigs mostly come down to taste. I prefer having a good tank "just in case." Other people will fit rigs that increase damage and/or damage application for the missiles... and still others will fit mods that beef up drones.

use shield recharge rigs, field purgers and a passive tank with shield extenders, shield resistance amplifiers and shield power relays.


your main damage will not come from missiles, but from drones

OP, I think you should outline your goals/skills then we will have a more educated recommendation.

Do you occasionally have to go AFK and want extra/cap stable tank?
Do you want to blitz missions?
Do you just want to casually run them?
Do you like to kill everyting?
Are your drone skills or missile skills higher?

Can you add anything else about your style?

well, i made my fit to face sleepers, so i cant rely in cap because the heavy neuting.

But the gila and rattlesnake have very good shield recharge, compared to other ships

I have 2x rigor II, and 1x flare I It is either that or 1x rigor II 2x flare II. I forget which is optimal.

If you run missions in hisec, you can afford to put good modules on the ship. I would suggest this. Cap stable without afterburner running.

Goals :- as above lvl4 missions (currently use a golem/tengu now just want to try something different)
not fussy about blitzing not bothered about killing everything, i would possibly salvage to killing everything would be best
i do not go afk

I suspect it is just a placeholder for propmod of choice, there are some missions where a MJD will take you right into the action, or at least closer than the warp in. All a question of where you point it. Too many people wrongly use MJDs to run away.

Well i knocked up a fit with modules i had i stations and done a couple of lvl3 missions as a test seemed quite easy watching the drones do their stuff, so then decided i'll have a bass at a lvl4 mission. 1st mission i got was Guristas extravaganzer so i thought bugger it lets jump in a see what happens, needless to say i had to jump out a few times on the last room (not the bonus room) in fact i almost lost the bloody ship Smile on one occasion, the problem i had with my cheap fit was the shields were just not holding up to the battering it was getting. My other concern was actually salvaging the sites, with my golem this was not a problem, but from a solo account perspective the rattlesnake may not have been a good choice for my play style.

Why do you have 2xLSE? Those won't help you much. Replace them with a shield boost amplifier and a mission specific hardener or target painter.

Edit: replace adaptive invulns with mission specific hardeners, they use less cap. And get a prop mod on that thing.

pretty sure DG boosters are less cap efficient than T2. Dunno exactly what CCP was thinking when they balanced active tanking but oh welp. That said Pith boosters are pretty cheap, I'd probably buy a b-type x-large. although that might be a CPU issue? And as just said the shield extenders do almost nothing on an active rattler.

also with fury missiles pretty sure you need a painter or two to hit well.

For level 4s, your damage application is going to be the main concern since it's more about how fast you can do them rather than how safe it is.

Granted, only some 230 passive tank but 37k shield hitpoints. The 1000 dps should grind down any enemy ships before those run out. Missiles are only good for the small stuffs anyway.
