Caroline's Star is completely gone now from Piekura visual site all that left now is the green dust cloud.

here is the pic that I've took at around 07:30 eve time:

Now I am missing the star lol, I think that after this is all done CCP should just have a star that is always there just so we can have a North Star or so.

Uhmm that's not what it seems that's wormhole created to merge this space with another probably the work of the affected sleepers controlled by "the other" and probably a direct result of the sanshas messing with the sleepers. it makes sense as the opposing force to the other was the Jovians, wiping them out is the correct course when retaliating against us thanks to Sanshas.

Noticed yesterday (or maybe it was my meds kicking in ) that a star near the nebula stared flaring, and hours later a few more started doing the same thing, by the end of the day yesterday all the stars were flaring bright and dim. ( I got many Time lapse pictures to prove it to the doubters)

Not the background static stars, these were the stars u see with points coming off them. It was like a wave was coming off the nebula that made those stars unstable as it passed. after a few hours all the stars were doing it. haven't looked today yet, but expect to spend some time watching the skys again.

Yep just checked from The Sukanan Constellation and ALL the Non-background stars in the sky are still flaring on a 10-15 second cycle. Strangely the sun in system seems to be stable. If THAT started flaring it would be bad news for all. lol.

(Note: You can see this just by glancing at the stars as you warp around - u have to actually look at one for a few seconds to see it change in brightness. If u use your telescopic camera zoom u can see it very clearly).

Unrealistic. No light suddenly visible in one system would be visible across the galaxy at the same time. Light moves at a finite speed in vacuum, which is even lower in the space fluid.

Unless you have a artificial wormhole induced supernova that projects the light on every point it would travel at once.

Or it is a hyperdimensional object and the "light" is the object intersecting 3D space in the volume of our galaxy and its passage through that volume of intersection is the change over time that we see.

But yeah, probably wormhole light.

It looked better yesterday. Those two rings on the sides, unless those are neighbouring stars exploding in chain reaction, or something like this, they look un-celestial.

Maybe it's Santa's carriage headlights though....

The background nebula in Great Wildlands looks exactly like that. And coincidentally, Carloine's Star is situated right in the middle of that nebula. According to Eve-Travel this nebula is the Ginnungagap. There are pictures of it taken from The Kalavala Expanse.

Perhaps you are referring to this? ---> LINK

This is puzzling to me seeing as how I panned all over the solar system and this was the brightest star I could find, this was taken 2 jumps from Amarr and was NOT in the direction of UUA but was instead in the direction of Kador. I would dismiss it as a simple star but its much more brighter than anything I could find in the system and seemed to be unique in this area. I have seen a few others in Caldari and Gallente space that aren't actually in the direction of the green nebula. I am going to try to get some screenshots from this location every day to monitor if this is in fact something else that may be happening.

For those non W-Space people out there the star and it's resultant cloud can not be seen from W-Space. Have fun with that theory crafting. ;)

btw not sure if anyone looked we have a name for the next expansion (13 Jan proteus) and the the background on the expansion page we have the green cloud that the star is leaving

http://community.eveonline.com/releases/proteus/

so i guess its got something to do with the next expansion.

I have been observing this event since its beginning, and don't have any real theories to contribute but do have one observation that no one seems to have made.

The anomaly seems to be two explosions, one super-bright one (day 3 on the GIF) followed by a dimmer but larger one (day 7) that spawns the green cloud.

That image analysis of the cloaked structure is fascinating. It lines up with everything that I had gathered about the structure, not being able to see it clearly before. The tendrils at the bottom make it seem more like a massive drone than an installation, a possibility that I am not entirely comfortable with.

Implosion and explosion maybe...

The whole "superluminal" effect could also have another interesting angle.
Something moving faster than light (mind that warp effects are NOT faster than light) effectively travels back in time.
The observed (let us call it) explosion or better the cause for it might actually occur in the near future although the effects are already visible....mind food?

it WAS the orange star on there as well, it seems ccp has that star on that page timed the same as the 1 ingame
