Why not regular gif?

Too big.
Imgur will convert the normal .gif files into .gifv as a way to apparently reduce the size.
Which unfortunately happens whether you want it to or not.

I'll put it them up on another site tomorrow, if people are still having trouble viewing the .gifv format.

Solecist, you probably already know this already, but there is a regular GIF near the bottom of my link dump. The only difference is the dimensions of the frame.

so the animation stopped a few days ago to a static image of the explosion?

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

That's correct. At day 35 I noticed that the expansion had stopped completely.
It may have looked different in Daniel's animation, as I had to scale up the first 20 frames and scale down the last 10.

I applaud CCP for giving us something new about which to speculate.

However, there needed to be more of a progression of events to keep this event interesting. I think this whole thing went "meh" about day 30-35 giving 12 to 22 days of "so, yeah...what else is new?"

I think CCP relied too much on the relative speed of their 6 week release schedule. Yes, it is MUCH quicker than the two times per year schedule, but it wasn't enough to hold interest in this case.

Gate campers are just Carebears with anger issues.

I am glad to see someone is doing some time lapse of it. I was just thinking the other day it would be cool if someone did. I was on a break when it was first added.

A great place to have did a time lapse from would be the null system where everyone goes to test stuff on sisi. it is massive from that vantage.

I did venture to that system, and capture the image of the Star.
But as I found out with that photo, the closer you get does not necessarily mean a better quality image.

Daniel's was better, because although it had the murderous shaking, it didn't have the Jove nebula in the background.
