Hey all.

I just want to clarify that the 90 days of subscription time are automatically added to the account upon completion of the purchase.

Also, please keep in mind that this is a CCP promotion that has nothing to do with Amazon, so the 90 days will not be available for people who purchase the CE box through Amazon.

Purchasing through an official EVE Store because "90 days free game time" and you don't get it unless you go through account managment. Feels like a bit of false advertising here as the purchase was only worthwhile to me for that reason.

*Edit* Shame on me for thinking the 90 days advertised would be what I was purchasing instead of Geno 1-2s. EVE has taught me to read between the lines, but didn't think THIS would be the place I would need to do so.

*Edit2* Apologies for the irrationality of calling it false advertising, I read this thread and went to send my email to customer service only to notice my notification of order being shipped was received 7 minutes previously.

The 90 days was ONLY offered if you went to the account management page. Not at the store.

Is it lame....yes. But don;t stat the "false advertising" thing. That too is lame.

It may be not a "False Advertising" per se, but it surely is misleading and confusing. As these things go, I don't think this was done on purpose but rather due to typical incompetence.

I guess that someone at CCP came up with this promotion idea so they quickly wired it up to the account management. When they realized that people can still buy it through the EVE store and miss the promotion, they figured out it's easier to just claim that this is "by design" and the two are totally different things than to go and clean up the mess. including retroactively applying the 90 days game to people who already bought it.

This is rather ridiculous. The promotion doesn't have any clear information how to buy the CE to have the 90 days applied, there is no warning that you should stick to the process of buying it from there or else you'd miss the promotion and the EVE store DOES ask you for login as well. This is as confusing as it gets. No typical user would even suspect these are different products and their purchase will result in different outcome.

The right thing to do would be for CCP to take responsibility for this mess and clean it.

But as someone already mentioned in this thread - this is EVE, you can't be suspecting enough...

How?
Most likely returned his original purchase, and repurchased it from the proper link to get the 90 days free time.

Ok, just received my box.

Ordered during the weekend, and got a dispatch email on the Monday working day.
Arrived Wednesday noon time. DHL delivered. Not bad considering it was shipped from Germany.

These are the things you get.

  • Into the Second Decade hardcover book
  • Danger Game
  • USB Rifter
  • Pack of codes + a CD symphony recording + 60 day game time for NEW accounts

The codes pack include the following:

  • EVE Online Collector's Edition In-Game Items Code, consisting of: http://imgur.com/BulEVsR
  • Collector's Edition Mystery Code, consisting of: http://imgur.com/SlhX7k0 , and http://imgur.com/FL916aX , and the Phanca Cybernetic Arm, Male OR Female AND Right OR Left. Only one combination, which I forgot to screenshot.
  • DUST 514 In-Game items Code, consisting of: Not redeemed, since I don't own Dust 514.

The combined total worth of the goods you receive is 3.359B, according to today's pricing.
So really, for £59.99 or $74.99, which equates to 6 months of game time(assuming monthly payment),
You get 90 days free, as part of the promotion, plus items worth 3.359B ISK. You do the maths.

Plus there is more mystery items coming, and you get some of the best physical collectibles of EVE, which may NEVER be remade again. Not to mention, the value of the goods will appreciate in the future as the stock levels of the Collector's Edition deplete, and with people consuming those items.

I purchased it right here on this site. I had to log in and everything. CE has already been shipped and delivered. Do not have my 90 days. I've submitted a ticket. GM Stardust is there any other method I need to be pursuing to get this resolved?

Where was it shipped to, and how much did you pay? It tells me that the shipping cost to the US would be just shy of $20.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Don't know if you can do anything else besides opening a ticket and trying to draw the attention of CPP to the issue on the forums.

Are you sure it's not the EVE Store?
Because the Store also requires logging in with your account.

This is the link you need, and not any other.

Same issue here, purchased from EVE Store thinking it would be the exact same thing. Have now received my CE but no response on support tickets to Musterbrand or CCP.
