But I just noticed this.

That logo looks very similar to the star.

Advertisement on a galactic scale? I know the Sisters can be ruthless if they desire so, but to destroy a star to advertise their ships/corp? Darn.... I bet that's too much, even for SuVee...

Even if it is an ad, it's not like we can throw ISK at them and buy these shiny ships, so practically it has no point. I've never worked with this branch of SOE, but I heard that they dislike us, capsuleers, very much.

Note to self:
1. Stay away from Vale.
2. Keep probe launcher and probes ready in case of emergency diving to j-space.

But this one is zoomed in, and if I am correct, if anything bad happens, Vale goes down first, right? Right?..

Decided to take another quick sortie up to Vale to confirm reports that the phenomenon was exhibiting a prominence. Detailed images can be found here:

It could simply be a "lens flare" effect from whatever process is allowing the entire cluster to view the phenomena. The effect is clearly visible here in Yulai.

From the looks of it, they are already kicking the bucket.

I guess I should be pretty safe in Stain, right? Anyway, don't know if this might have something to do with the weird Sansha activity, or whether it's business as usuall, but last week there was a Sansha incursion in Esoteria, today another one into Paragon Soul. Could it be that Sansha is looking for something in his old lab/fortress?

Has anyone ever tried to run an armor repairer backwards? I'll bet it'd eat right through that door.

Or here's another thought. What good is a vault if you can bypass space itself with a wormhole?

Armour repairers are placed right in Engineering. That means we have to go the other direction first. Not to mention this method only works against armour plating and does absolutely squat against bulkhead doors. Space stations in general do not have armour repairers or hull repairers installed to exploit.

Actually, thinking about it we can just remove the biometric scanner console and rewire the door.

Wormhole generation is not as simple as you think. Vast amounts of energy and liquid ozone must be expended to generate an artificial wormhole. Not to mention you need somebody inside to generate a cynosural field and somebody else to bridge.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Someone asked in the A'J mailing list for possible reasons why the apparent disparity between Caroline's Star and the center of the "shockwave " seen now in relation to it. Several theories have been put forth and will not bother reiterating them here.

Three out of four University Wonks agree and they wrote:
close vicinity of the W477-P system... has been cautiously and provisionally confirmed as the most likely location of the anomaly...

Emphasis and snips mine.

First, I'd like to point out that this shockwave is displaying FTL properties of its own, but thats a statement of the obvious, and rather besides my point here. Indeed, while there may be some kind of cluster-wide field effect at work that is allowing all information related to this anomaly to reach us at FTL speeds, luckily the vast majority of the energy being output is still restricted to much lower speeds.

Apologies. My point is: Caroline's Star need not be in W477-P, only close by, for a structure in W477-P to finally succumb to the staggering energy output of this anomaly. We could be seeing something unrelated to the anomaly reacting -most violently- to it.

What could contain the energy necessary to cause such a shockwave?

Thus Spake the Frigate Goddess!

I'm guessing the energy output is at least 8.8×10 to the 47th J. The equivalent of a massive super-nova. Doesn't explain the FTL quantum aspects of the anomaly. But...Boom. Yeah. Big boom.

I've been very intrigued by this. Has anyone measured to see if there's a change in the vertical height since it's appearance? I have an idea...

Interested sky watchers seem to have noticed it isn't simply getting flat out brighter or bigger, but rather is pulsing or fluctuating....for lack of a better term. And there does appear to be a shockwave. Here is a link to a collection of stills arranged in a video. Link.

In that case I feel a bit more confidant saying, I believe the extreme verticality displayed by Caroline's Star maybe do to two Gamma ray bursts coming from the center...however I think I'm correct in stating that these would be unnaturally long-lasting GRBs. It boggles the mind.

It is just lens flare from our observational devices. Distortion due to distance and FTL effects. It is a massive explosion of some sort with a defined ahockwave now visible. I suspect after a week or two it will begin to dim.

I have seen this anomaly from Providence and will try to get an image later today if possible. It has raised my curiosity to maybe do some research as well to determine the distance from my home station to the location in question, and to determine if any rate of increase in size can be made.
