Hey guys I haven't played in about 2 years....And I have been using Linux since then. I was wondering how well EVE might run under Wine 1.7 (current)? These are my specs:

-Ubuntu 14.04
-RAM 3Gb's
-Nvidia GTX 650 2gb Graphics card.
- AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
-1080p Screen...

Yea my system isn't GREAT, but it gets the job done. I just needed some input before I go ahead and purchase a month that this will at least work?

Thanks!

UPDATE:

I went ahead and took the chance. This game works FLAWLESS. I can play with all the settings on High as well as HDR. The download, installation, and launcher all work perfectly. Would have never guessed I was playing in Linux.

For anyone out there who thinks this is unplayable in Linux....you're wrong.

EVE has been working flawlessly in WINE for ages now. Just ignore the haters man =)

Gratz on the swtich. Next step, get a proper distro like Linux Mint or Arch hehe *trollface

With
- Ubuntu 12.04, Unity
- i7 3770K @ 4GHz,
- nVidia 780 Ti, proprietary driver blob
- 2560x1440 screen resolution

I get 80-140 fps fullscreen with "Interval immediate" set in Eve. I normally have it set to "Interval one", and get a mostly solid 60 fps.

I Don't have a Windows installation and haven't had for years, so I can't really compare - but Eve Linux performance seems very good.

there is a sort of an unwritten thing with eve that they try and keep it working on wine. I guess a few devs use it in fact. It probably will never be official support, but they do try quite hard it seems to not break anything.

I have not had windows on any machine for almost 10 years. If wine stopped working, i would probably just not play eve. I don't think i could go back to windows.

Well fun is also good.
