Player Features and Ideas Discussion

Lately I've been spending a LOT of time probing and one thing drives me crazy. When I jump from one system to the next, my probes deploy to whatever geographic location they were in in the last system. If it was say a 140 AU system, and I'm jumping into a 10 AU system this involves a lot of zooming and scrolling to get my probes back to a reasonable location.

My feature request is for implementation of any one of the following features, or combination thereof

- upon launching probes in a new systme, probes should formation around your ship, (or the sun) instead of their last location

OR

- a 'center probes on ship' button

OR/AND

- a 'center probes on sun' button


All of these suggestions with the intention of getting the probes to a useful position quickly, instead of dragging them around from wherever they were in the last system I visited.

This was intentionally not implemented as it would make scanning way too easy with the new system. You could basically have your perfect pinpoint probe spread 1 second after the probe launch with that. In order to have the ability to use probe patterns, the suggested mechanic was not implemented and should not be implemented.
