steatlh nerf npc corp thread?

The assumption of the hypothesis the OP wishes to have studied is that npc corp = solo player/ player run corp = fleet player.

No so true, many corps have solo players within their groups, and some npc corps have a dedicate enough group to fleet up.

I would think most players fall i the middle, solo during the week when time is short, fleet up with buddies on the weekend when they got all day to cause havoc.

Given that CCP is obsessed with wanting players/pilots to be in a Corp and not fly solo, I don't suppose CCP has ever attempted a player demographic audit survey to see what percentage of pilots through RL free time constraints like me are flying solo compared to what percentage are flying in corps.

If the former has a higher demographic percentage than the latter, then CCP's game objective is out of kilter with reality, and Seagull and CCP in general have got their priorities wrong.

I.E. Not much point in gearing game development towards Corps and Alliances IF the biggest demographic percentage of the people playing the game are flying solo. OR are we to believe that most the 36k and 56k people are all in fleets? Of which I have only ever seen one.

It's a multiplayer game so allmost everything should be geared towards stimulating that , the fact that a load of people don't participate in the multiplayer aspect , of wich a hell of a lot are just alts of those who do play in groups btw , should not change their focus on multiplayer gameplay.

If you want to play solo then i myself don't see any problem with that , but don't expect CCP to lay focus on singleplayer gameplay more then on multiplayer gameplay.

Yep and that also includes a vast amount of available open fleets like the RvB weekend roams in wich anyone can participate.

It's always good to hear from business majors, isn't it? Once they learn "demographic" there's no holding them back! Lol

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

EVE is an social experiment.
If CCP wanted a solo game they'd made an FPS not an MMO.

Also do I not buy the Imma RL busy so I cannot join a corp.
As others wrote mainy corps have a laid back attitude with RL comes first in their head.

Don't be afraid, wetten your feet. :)

Can't remember the last time I saw 53k online. Probably before Fanfest 2014 in January or February.

Agreed. ATM membership of NPC corps does not mean not in a fleet. I am currently 'observing' a fourteen ship NPC fleet. But thinking about it again all those fourteen accounts are controlled by one person. Roll on January 2015 ! Twisted I can't wait.

That's because you are not a full time Carer for your elderly parents, like I am for Dad - Dad's 95-, and like I was a full time Carer for Mum [plus Dad] till we lost Mum a little over 3 years ago - Mum was 93.

So you see, my RL free time is very limited. I manage about/around 4 hours or so a week playing Eve, and most of that is on Sunday afternoon, when we have finished with dinner and I've done all the washing up ect.

As for my original post, most of you have gone off on a tangent.

If CCP knows what demographic percentage of players/pilots are playing the game solo as opposed to being in a group, then CCP will have a better understanding of the player demographics of their player base as a whole. So can structure the game accordingly.

For instance say solo pilots were 60% of the player base, and pilots in a corp were the remaining 40%, then CCP would know that more players were playing as solo pilots then corps pilots, and by corp I mean in player run corps as in flying in a fleet. AND of course vice versa.

My 'corp' is the School of Applied Knowledge, but since I started playing the game I've flown solo, and will probably continue to fly solo for the immediate future, as being a Carer is a full time job.
