Victory in what way? If some of those other games even knew the list existed and decided to legitimately cast one vote each, EVE would be knocked flat out. Honestly the point is simple:

Its fun. Does it really matter if they win this again? prolly not. But its still fun to beat the others. If the website wanted us to not vote we wouldn't. ccp has gotten this award several times. And I dunno what game you are playing, but eve has made huge strides in the past few cycles. But meh

The fact that they let you vote every 8 hours makes this obvious click bate for more page views.

However, Eve seems to be in the lead and if it does get this "award" then maybe it will generate a little more interest in people who either didn't know about Eve or those who just never tried it before.

I really don't care which website it is, how important they are in the MMO communities or how much traffic they get. Hell, I don't even care about the award that much.

It's simple, this is a statement about our community. While people may say what they like about the game or CCP, no-one can match the drive this community has. We share one world, not separate realms. Unlike other games, we have the unique opportunity to impact our world and leave a legacy.

We will fight on any battle ground, big or small. No matter what the odds, when the call is made, we will rise up. We may have our differences in game but compared to other MMO communities, we stand together. That's the point. Others may call that stupid or pointless but I disagree and many agree with us.

A new player seeing that on even a small website is potentially another new pilot. That might not be much but all of us started that way. Who knows who these new players will become in time?

Let the world see what our community is made off.

Eve's hold on the poll from a random MMO player standpoint: 'Total dominance' (Yes we're the red/orange guys,we look scary to others!)

PS: great that we won in the Reader's choice section, as that actually has a bonus, namely a special feautring the 'winner' EvE! More exposure is always nice and might draw in new players that eventually will fly among us as comrades in battle or adversaries in conflict.

Enlarge the pic and you can start to search for player-ships. Most of the symbols there are the x for Drones^^
