Hmm...while correlation does not equal causation, i wonder if this has anything to do with the increase in sleep activity, especially since they evacuated without using wormholes..

If you've still got scouts out there, have them check the Cobalt Edge region. If not, I'm not too far away myself, and I can take a look around.

This is the first report I've ever seen of Nation ships retreating from a constellation in an unusual fashion - usually they leave by whatever means they enter. If they were retreating via stargates it suggests that they needed to leave CZ-06R immediately and weren't willing to wait for Sansha's wormhole device to spool up.

Just coming out of Cobalt Edge btw, its clean as hell.

Only activity is capsuleer alliance renters killing drones. Business as usual.

EDIT: However, forgot to mention, when we are passing through the VY- system, the residents were talking about some WH activity around. But our searches ended up with nothing. FYI

Goddamn wormholes and Sleepers. I'm starting to have dreams about them - if so, I hope they're not prophetic, because the last one was about losing a Thanatos to a stealth bomber in wormhole space.

I remember some time back seeing a report on unusual sleeper activity during a nation incursion, Awakened Infomorph was mentioned... some odd spatial rift activity too...
Now this strange event after the whole Fake-Tukoss debacle.

Coincidence?

That went off topic rather quickly. is that why the Federation must be destroyed?

There are many reasons for this, but not this one.

UPDATE #1: Reached the MTGF-2/5T-A3D system pair, nothing out of the ordinary here. Stargate seems to be functioning as normal, no signatures present. There were rogue drones orbiting both sides of the gate, but that's hardly unusual for this area of space. I'm currently heading for FV-YEA, since that's the only system in Cobalt Edge that connects to the CZ-06R constellation.

Thank you. I was hoping but not expecting something unusual; perhaps some sign that the "Transponder 6612" might actually be that gate. It was a long shot.

I remember that as well. Awakened Infomorph for reference. Nothing unusual there other than oh look Center for Advanced Studies. Zakari Kovalis Another coincidence? I think not. But what does it have to do with Sansha's Nation? We need hard evidence. Not more speculation.

I had thought of Mr Kovalis as soon as I saw this message... who's bio makes absolutely no sense in hex, btw.

Guess that sleeper transfer he was attempting didnt work out quite right...

There was a report on a media outlet (twitter) that a new star has been seen in the region. Can anyone confirm?

I seem to remember in my youth that this event happened once before, a giant star was seen all over, and then we had the wormholes appearing all over shortly after. Maybe someone is experimenting again? (First post in an rp thread, ain;t that cool?)

Or it could be a simple namesake. We have quite a lot of people in the cluster.

I can confirm I have seen this en route to Oasa region.

As I said in my mail to Arek'jaalan, it looks bigger and brighter than any other nearby star I have ever seen.

Also the star is persistent in two regions in every system (Perrigen Falls, Oasa) and does not connect to any system (lines in the sky with the autopilot graphic feature). Few people are also reporting (unconfirmed) that this phenomenon is visible from various other places across the New Eden.

I'm Caroline Grace, and this is my favorite musical on the Citadel.

Well, that is interesting. If it only can be seen from one region that means it is not far from these systems. Well, relatively not far. It could be Sansha's safespot going ka-boom, that's my guess.

Take note of lens flare of this star compared to others: usually main flare go in horizontal plane, while for this star - in vertical.
Which means, it might be not a lens flare, but relativistic jets of plasma, and the object is an active black hole, in the process of consuming matter or another star.
Or a quasar.

We've got a problem, because I'm seeing it all the way over in Tribute.

This means it's another FTL event, visible from multiple regions simultaneously. That's bad.

UPDATE: People in The Summit are reporting it to be visible everywhere:

- Jandice Ymladris gives us this image from Erindur, Metropolis.
- Darus Nashur gives us this image from Domain.

Can we possibly get it's location pin downed on the map?

Bah, don't you ever include yellow sun in close proximity of big shining yellow something!

If nobody can pinpoint its location I suggest we just wait, as there is nothing else to do, in my opinion.

Added: It's smaller in this shot from Metropolis and bigger in the shot from your location. Hm, could we find a region where it becomes really huge? Don't know if it will give us anything.
