Ushra'Khan

On the 25th November a week of celebrations shall take place.

The roots of the Ushra'Khan are found in the first days since the capsule became popular and the elite caste came to be in the galaxy. It began with Oracle Corp declaring a formal war against the 1st Praetorian Guard, loyal to the Amarr empire. The skirmishes and battles took place in a much smaller galaxy with only a handful of capsuleers spearheading the fight. Concentrated around Hek, Eystur, Pator, Yulai and Amarr for over four months before more corps would join the fray.

Barely eight months after Oracle and 1st Praetorian Guard waged war against each other, Oracle would leave the empire and seek new refuge in Curse and Great Wildlands as part of the Curse Alliance alongside TPFM - The Peoples Front of Minmatar. A new informal alliance called 'Friends of Matar' would rise in their place and 1st Praetorian Guard would reform into PIE and add Imperial Dreams, Ubiqua Seraph and Blacksheep squadron as allies against what became to be the members of the Ushra'Khan.

Under the general leadership of a few, Friends of Matar [FOM] would base their attacks from Molden Heath with the largest members being Freelance Unincorporated, SMaK Enterprises, Northern Intelligence and The Paratwa Ra. They faced a war on two fronts fighting the pirates of Molden Heath lead by Sneaky Magic and the rapidly strengthening alliance lead by Pie Inc and the infamous Golan Trevise and their allies, Blacksheep Squadron.

In early November YC106 (2004), Oracle and The Peoples Front of Matar would merge into a new corp, Matsuat'aa Matari and return to their roots, FoM would be joined by yet more corps in the form of Amarr Will Eat Itself who then go on to execute and form the first official alliance - the 'Ushra'Khan' - adopting the bloody fist as the symbol of our fight.

Just five days later on 30th November, PIE would from the Curatores Veritatis Alliance. From this point onwards, the war between the two factions would rage on - the war we fight today was born out of this moment.

This war will continue until our last breath - the heart of the Ushra'Khan beats strong once more.

We invite all to celebrate this momentous occasion as we celebrate tomorrow evening @20:00 in Rens. I can only hope that our San Matar himself could witness such an event.

There can be no denying that the capsuleers of Matar have dwindled. Falling away from their people, be they in the Republic, Federation, State or Empire, in favor of random entities holding allegiance to no one or to the Angels, Serpentis, or even the Empire. Since I became a capsuleer, there has never been fewer of us standing against the terror of the Empire. There is not a single one left of those I once called comrade in arms.

Not one, except pilots of the Ushra'Khan.

In my years in space and before it, Ushra'Khan has faced the greatest triumphs and the most bitter losses of the Minmatar capsuleers in New Eden and yet it stands with a bloody fist held high. This is what happens when you combine an indefatigable will, a purpose so blindingly clear and unsullied, with the immortality of the capsule. You get the one entity in New Eden that has withstood it all, and forge ahead still.

We are still here, we who would come for our people.
We are still here, we who would - if need be - come for yours.

Unbreakable will in immortal bodies.

*A video feed of Tyrel sitting atop his Rifter appears on screen*

A voice from behind the camera: "are you sure about this?"

Tyrel: "You only live once..."

voice from off camera: "But you-"

Tyrel: "Just shut up and get the shot."

voice: "ok...."

*the camera zooms out and the after burners kick on. As the Rifter shoots forward out of the dock, Tyrel can be heard yelling*

Tyrel: "FOR THE MATAR! FOR FREEDOM!

I want to paint my ship Periwinkle.

Congratulations to the leadership and pilots who fly under the banner of this organization. Ushra'khan has been both bitter enemies and even partners of Ishukone-Raata in the past, in that time, through countless interactions ranging from war, debates, and moments of peaceful resolutions. You have continued to gain something worth more then wealth and power... respect, be it from your enemies or your close friends.

Whatever the future holds for you, I can only hope you continue to honour the legacy left by those before you.

I regret that I will not be able to attend. So I will take this opportunity to congratulate and commend the Ushra'Khan for carrying on and continuing their great work against the slaver.

You have been an inspiration for countless Matari pilots for the last decade. Here's wishing you continued strength and success.

You're aware PIE has already celebrated their decade right? Right? Right.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

The corporation did. Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris, the alliance, was founded on the 15th of January, YC 110.

For as long as Ushra'Khan pilots are among the stars New Eden's people will remember that it is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees. Well fought.

No reason why U'K shouldn't also celebrate their first (and hopefully last) decade. After all - monkey see, monkey do.

I'd like to salute all the former members of U'K corporations. Many fighters have passed through our ranks over these 10 years and they are the reason we could keep the fight going.

One day we will all drink again in Deck 23 !

Now that is a goal worthy of pursuing. Setting aside the isk to fund a celebration that won't be considered a success unless the medbays are groaning under the weight of attendees for weeks after.
