Suns/Stars?

"Sun" is a name. A proper noun. Not a term for something.

"Sun" refers to only one star, specifically the star that Earth is orbiting. No other.

Asking "where are the other Suns" is like asking "where are the other Jitas".

We also already have those in the form of a skybox!

Billions of light years away from each other?
Urgh, NOPE.

Billions of km maybe. But not light years.

Its a giant ******* ball of super heating bright as **** plasma, that if you look into it, your eyes literally ******* die.. what kind of textures are you wanting instead? Some pink faux zebra fur, trimmed with some cheetah? Maybe a little bump map that has a hidden easter egg that looks like CCP Headquarters? How about a giant space skillet that hovers at 0 to the sun so you can make some space grilled cheese?

I could literally go on forever.. but I just fired my secretary Randy.. and im waiting on his replacement.. so im typing this myself instead of my typical dictation method of being an ***.

I'd make it the Zelda moonface for every single star and You'd only be able to see it if you turn down your monitor brightness and ingame gamma values to about less than 1%.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

But... What about Hek?

Anywyays, all suns are stars. But not all stars are suns! A lot of celestial objects glitter like stars sometimes!

Unless you're a grumpy astronomer, we shouldn't split hairs about how we name those spectacular balls of hot plasma! To me, they are all suns.

It did not work.

The average distance between the stars in our galaxy is actually only around 3.5 light years. For the whole universe including the big voids in between the galaxies it's only around 4500 light years. You are a couple orders of magnitude off.

On another note, I once had to explain to an ex-girlfriend who was 24 year old at the time, that the shooting star she just saw wasn't actually a star falling down. Imagine that! If that was true, the impact would probably knock the world disk off the elephants' back and it would fall all the way down. All the way!!

I had to explain to an old girlfriend back in the early 90's that stars were not actually star shaped, like in cartoons. She wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Roll

Textures like this

You know what is hilarious after all my years in this game I have never flown up to a star to orbit it in game, just through it. Anyways no big deal- moving on

Eve stars are more realistic tho, generally, stars are just too bright to see anything on the surface, unless you dim the light of the star/sun or do image enhancing

Hardly.

In Eve stars look like this:

-------------=============O=============-------------

Instead of like this:

O

The CCP graphic space devs obviously don't know much about Astonomy.

What you are thinking of is a false-colour image. That is not visible light. This is a visible-light image of the sun:
http://www.photographyblogger.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/IMG_9881_sun_may_1.jpg

This is achieved through the use of filters, so that a minimum amount of light is actually passing through. It's the same way they take images for the rest of the EM spectrum, albeit with different kinds of filters.

EVE visualises stars correctly in that, they're way too bright to have a surface intelligible to the 'human' eye.
