The average distance between the stars in our galaxy is actually only around 3.5 light years. For the whole universe including the big voids in between the galaxies it's only around 4500 light years. You are a couple orders of magnitude off.

On another note, I once had to explain to an ex-girlfriend who was 24 year old at the time, that the shooting star she just saw wasn't actually a star falling down. Imagine that! If that was true, the impact would probably knock the world disk off the elephants' back and it would fall all the way down. All the way!!

EVE stars are much more realistic than that other example posted from Elite is it? That's what the sun looks through various filters, sure... but up close and personal its gonna be a super bright violent swarm of hot gass spewing **** all over the place, not a pretty little orange ball with a few whisps on the surface.

Entered thread expecting an Eve player complaining about something meaningless that they don't understand in the first place. I'm leaving satisfied.

Stars are one thing that is seen very often in ED, I'd much rather see them be pretty instead of some realistic super bright ball of light. That screenshot is really old too.

Stars also get dimmer the further you get away from them in ED unlike Eve.

You guys are playing a game of fantastic Internet spaceships, where your consciousness can survive in a fresh body light years away. You care about realism because?

You mean like VR in giant blue people?? What? Don't know what you're smoking, but I hope you brought enough for everyone.

So, you're a bounty hunter. No, that ain't it at all. Then what are you? I'm a bounty hunter.

No it does not look like the distance the planet is from the star effects the planets brightness when you are in orbit around it. But from afar the planets do look dimmer when they are either small or a long distance away from the star.

Sorry Rain. I missed the Rookie Chat Flailing part of the trailer. Feel free to point me at it before I make another attempt at alleviating the charlie brown cloud over your head.

my head? bro, one of our newbies is my favorite FC, and last i heard we're thinking about electing them to CSM.

they get the action CCP baited the trailer with. my post was a commentary on that disparity, for your rookies, not ours.
