What awesome loot? Given how well a T2 battleship performs with just T2 modules, I would imagine that you could fit a T3 battleship with T1 modules and still achieve 1500+ DPS out to 250km with a 1,000 DPS one-slot tank*.

* T3 battleships would be a reason to use glass/blight/polarized weapons.

Except when you ignore the 'you could have this many configs' and actually look at how many T3 Cruiser configs are regularly used, the T3 destroyers have just as many real options and are possibly going to be balanced where T3's are meant to be. The problem is T3 Cruisers are not T3 actually, we have just had them so long that people believe that's what a T3 should be.

I think T3 is around reverse engineering sleeper tech. T2 is just researching existing stuff and adding morphite.

I wouldn't take the modular setup as what a T3 is, even though that's what it has been so far.

I don't like it really when we have carriers available. I'd prefer some new ideas or new ways to make capital ships more interesting than waste time on an overpriced battleship.

Not interested in a T3 battleship.

A new T2 battleship, something akin to a 'battlestar' or a mini-carrier on the other hand... there's a niche there just begging to be filled. We already know the Hyperion hull would be perfect for that.

T3 BS would probably be easier to balance than the current T3 cruisers that benefit from all the perks of being medium sized hulls.

Furthermore, I think that links must be removed from the game.

There is a lot of room between the battleships and capitals, and a lot of options that could come into play in this area.

It's the 1 class of ship that could support a T3 variant without stomping on any other ships in the game. Anything smaller and it will step on something.
