I can see the shiny killmails now- one-shot by an NPC, their worst nightmare P

I;m becoming more and more convicnced that the Drifters/Tyrannos are the resurgence of the Second Empire's leading party, the Tyrants. They weren't bad- in fact, they united the Jovian factions as one. I wonder if that will hold any significance :)

Also, their HQ as listed so far is in the Great Wildlands, directly adjacent to the location of the original two Jovian Empires.

So that's a fifth 'faction' they gonna implement in the game to make new capsuleer rules available to players ?! Idea
(like faster SP learning / SP loss on pod-kill / permanent suspect timer / and so on)

Unlikely most likely the perma death will come with a form of trial account with caps or a non capsule based pilot. Sleepers/Jovians all have the same upload tech.

Can't remember if I ever got an answer for this;

Why do the Drifters have full-body models for the pilots? Is that a normal NPC thing to do? Do Sansha, Angel etc all have pilot models somewhere in the files too?

Not really commonplace, then again, most NPC's that got a custom made pic were from before the full body implementation (Jacus Roden, Sansha Kuvakei etc)

In this particular case, I suspect the full body modification is to show how different the Jove are to us, almost an entirely alien race, despite our common ancestry as humans. And through it, Jove have motivations that are alien to us, something I hint at in my Jove article: 'Shrouded in mystery, the Jovian race' Note this is about the Jove of the Jovian Directorate, not these returning Jove, whom I suspect are something else entirely!

The Old Jove Empire used to be where the Angels now live, the Curse region (check the description! It's an old Jove Poem! Could be interesting regarding recent events!)

Thanks for the link, I gave it a read and really liked it :)

Additionally, you mention a rumour that the Jovians were building a superweapon of their own... could that be what has caused the Caroline's Star incident? A Jovian Superweapon used to detonate Sansha? :P

Wel the whole Caroline Star is still an enigma wrapped in mystery. Outside 'hey it happened & This star shouldn't be able to go supernova!' we know little. It's very likely someone triggered the star to go supernova, whether deliberate or not is still in the open, also the same for any side-effects (opening of shattered wormholes etc) being intentional or not

Jove are suspect because of this old chronicle 'The Armageddon Project' indicating the Jove might have access to a weapon that can shatter a planet, or more...

Also 'Drifter' is also a background selection option for Minmatar players that went for the Vherokior Bloodline:

Drifters

Drawing inspiration from their nomadic ancestry, wanderlust runs strong with many Vherokiors. While many curb their thirst for adventure, there are those who simply cannot settle down in one place for long. Never at rest, they will always be lured by the horizon, as there are places to see and riches to be discovered

Above is the description given to the Vherokior Drifters, could help in pinpointing what CCP means with these new 'Jovian Drifters'

i do often trips from Outer region null to highsec with interceptor and usually do 40-50 jumps every time. Ive tried different routes up and Down and counted every system With uindentified structurs... and there is about 1 for evey 4 system. And it also seems when i check map and info, the structurs are placed in system With very little Activity, which strengthens the theory about Jove gonnaa clean up or out sov. in systems that aint in use. Further... ive not yet found such structurs in systems in null that have an Activ population.

So in my opinion, i still belive its CCP's plan to clean up the unused systems in null, which can give other the chance to claim sov.

It's a secrete weapon based on isogen-5. The amarr have been trying to build a weapon based of the Terran weapon the emperess has.

Or Bob is paving the way for his return!
