But unlike Janeway, we won't need to make an Unholy Alliance with Sansha to see them off..

I woke up in a cold sweat, i had a bad dream.

All the sleepers and the new drifter battleships are drones.

The new (still cloaked) stations are not stations, they are a Jove faction (drone boat) frigates

Just wait for a cruiser to turn up P

In relation to a comment earlier in the post about Carolines star looking like an eye when I was in Tierjev yesterday I looked at the star and I must be going mad but if you look at it the cloud base around the nebula is a head and a body with boobs.

Please note no drink or drugs were involved.

i must admit after playing EvE since beta (on other chars) I am applauding the story line behind this. Theirs so much speculation about the destruction of Jove space. The so called listening stations popping up all over new Eden. The Drifter BS.

The Dev's who actually sat down and started all this with the design of the listening outpost's, the death of the star and everything that is coming deserve a goddam medal of some sort.

And to keep it all quiet is just insane.

On the third day after your birth myself and my sister's will come to you and decide your fate.

Drifters

Quote:
Following the appearance of the Circadian Seekers in New Eden, a new ominous threat now glides through the darkness. Whatever their intentions and motives are, Capsuleers will no doubt play an integral part of their plan. Extreme caution is advised if contact is made.

Drifters don't looks like humans at all. More like cyborgs. Star Trek's borgs. Pale skin, some sort of implant or metallic cranium part on side of the head.
Dark side of Jovians. Like volkans and romulans. If they are jovians at all.
What does it mean the word: drifter? I only found a medium fishing vessel that using drifting fishnets.

Speculation: Drifters are Sleepers that too Jove DNA to recreate clone bodies, which they then cybernetically adapted to allow control by a personality shard move out of their collective, effectively creating a mobile chassis for individual Sleepers. They used Jove DNA because it has been most adapted to use with cybernetic implants.

Sleepers are Jovians- I'm almost certain that these Drifters are awakened Sleeper infomorphs with the Construct implants still attached to them (see the implants?). They look identical to the Jovians we see in EVE: Source and at the end of Fanfest 2012, save for the implants.

Jovian's are actually described as looking a lot like this.. With lots of implants.. In game most Jove looked worse lol.. only without the implants.. And these are Jove, that's been confirmed.

If anything, vs what the Jove look like now, these seem a few generations removed.. not as bad off..

As for what Drifter means.. it can also mean someone without a home.. Out trying to find themselves by just going from place to place.

Jovians, post-incarna. They're described like this in Theodicy and Templar One, and this image appears in EVE SourceSmile

They look near-identical to the drifters and even have the same outfit- the only difference is the cybernetic implants, which leads me to believe that they are indeed awakened Architect infomorphs

I agree, once I saw them bringing in a sleeper vessel from a small wormhole which two formed I reached the same conclusion. They were the same race after all and had the same augmentations and modifications to allow an additional implant.

It's killing me that we still have a week to go until this release, but what kills me even more is that Scylla isn't until March and I'm even MORE excited for what that's bringing xD

It just occurred to me that the number of drifter spawns might coincide with the number of ships that shot at the first drifter. So basically, however many ships are shooting at drifters will be blap'd. I'm in class right now but I'm going to test this again tonight. I think the answer to this superweapon is drones, and letting one take the heat off the player's ship. I think this is a new nuance to the AI, due to the one-shot nature of the superweapon. Unless the AI is changed to account for the boom.

If I recall right, from a player named Arcdragon from years ago (2009 - 2010) sleeper sites in WH space would spawn "per the threat" meaning if you land on a site with a dread you'll get way more than if you showed up in a cruiser or BC. Of course the class of WH also meant something in this equation.

I don't know if that mechanic ever changed or if that was entirely true, nor the "math" of it at this point. But it would be good for the AI if reinforcements were based on threat level. It would certainly prevent farming them.

I wonder how many the goons can spawn if they had a whole fleet pick a fight?

You're talking about capital escalations. Warp a cap into a w-space site and, yes, there is a chance of the sleepers escalating the site. W-space residents can give you more accurate data than I can.

All this reminds me of what Sansha Kuvakei said when he first reappeared in the cluster, namely that 'We are the heirs to a mistake' and that he wanted to correct it.

Perhaps he means that pour capsule tech is the 'mistake' ? After all, the quote in EvE Now does say 'all the mistake you are making, we already made'

Don't forget, the first Sansha's Nation is the only nation that faced the full wrath of the 5 empires, under the push of the Jove.
I suspect it wasn't only because of the True Slaves, because of two reasons:
-Amarr got slaves & Jove don't care about it. Also Amarr attacked Jove & while they did face the results (initial fleet wiped & minmatar rebellion instigated by Jove/Feds) Jove were content with leaving the Amarr alone after that, showing that the Jove supporting the Minmatar rebellion wasn't out of a goal to remove slavery, but more of an opportunity, to keep amarr busy so they no longer have the willpower to attack the Jove again.
-Caldari (Ishukone among them! A favorite of the Jove!) built mind control chips and the Jove never cared one iota about it.

From this I suspect that Sansha's Nation discovered something regarding capsuleer tech about a hundred years ago & the Jove wanted it silenced or destroyed. After all, Nation was doing research into capsuleer tech & made some breakthroughs
Considering Sansha is also present in at least two shattered wormholes I believe that Sansha's Nation will have something to add to all of this before it's all over.
